does the condenser need supporting?

my original plan with my v2000 mod was to support the condenser on a plastic box containing the control board.

However, my psu is too long for this set up and the wires are too close to the prommie pipes.

I have had to remove the dust filter panel at the front and push the condenser up against the front pannel. This has meant dropping the height to avoid the hdd and power led fitting and now there isn't really room for a box.

Can I leave the condenser and fan just supported by the pipes?

I think that sounds worse than it is. The condenser does self support, but it probably isn't recommended. You could always use a block of something, like neoprene to support it.

if I can get a lower profile box I will be ok but Maplin doesn't seem to stockanything else that will fit.

Check eBay, and other places. A lower profile box would be ideal for the job, I think that is where I had my controller. Because you have moved the condenser down, there may be space above it?

I think a lower profile will fit beneath it still. The one I have is really tall considering the height of the contoller card.

Can I cut the led's off or will the board not function then?

Cut them off?! :O

Don't do that, they're your saviour when things start to go wrong ;)

I think you can bend them, but try and avoid these more extreme measures, as others haven't had to when they've done the V2000 mod :)
