Damaged Unit

i belive pete said he was doing some qualifications to be hvac qualified himself, but that looks like a terrible job. did he say anything about it? make excusses?

Im no phase expert but from some of the build logs Ive seen on other forums that workmanship jsut looks shoddy and unsafe, if pete owns/works in a pub he'll know at least someone whos hvac qualified and should know the dangers involved in cowboy work.

Yet another nail in the coffin for him, time to get together and ban him from as many forums as possible.

I rang him earlier and spoke to him, he seemed to be a bit apprehensive but none the less he has agreed to a good conversation tomorrow, ill get some facts out of him and sort this out.

If its just more excuses then i will be going to the police, as i also consider this to be a dangerous item for me to even have in my house. God knows what would have happened if i turned it on.

Also, he is now trading under a company name, i have it on the invoice from DHL.

I now think this is a trading standards matter, and the law is with me 100% on my side. It a dangerous unit, its a terrible job, completely absolutely amazingly disgusting. possible theft of parts and completely misleading information on shipping times and whats been done. I paid for a service to be done, it wasnt done at all and im expected to live with it. I think I wont have that conversation with Pete, I will just get the TS involved and see what they have to say about it.

I think that makes sense, dont you?
 
Just removed the address dude, this needs to be sorted by the proper autorites and not by some wannabe Vigilante.

That looks like a pathetic job mate and youre right to jump on the trading standards thing. If he's a registered company he is well in the wrong and should be issueing you with a full refund and compensation for the damaged unit.

Also fairly sure items with refridgerant in them cant be shipped by normal means can they? Or shouldnt be at least
 
I'm actually quite shocked at how shody that work is. I'm no phase expert, but that just looks crap.

Really hope it gets sorted soon :)

I don't know jack all about phase, but I bet I could have done a better job.

I had a quiet word with the owner of the bike store. A really nice and tidy genuine guy, he seemed to be amazingly understanding about it, which is comforting to know. He didnt have a clue about the wrapping etc, which is understandable with them being a bike shop after all, not a phase rebuilding company that does some of the most terrible work possible.

I had a word and he was on about Pete simply doing some freelance work, which is better tbh because i wouldnt want to put pete down on my books of employees.

I will be keeping up to date with the owner of the store with all of this unravelling

I am going to email him some links and he will stay in touch with me over a few things also.

Little update for you all which i thought you might find interesting.
 
auch......that sounds weird. from my conversations with him in another forum he seemed to be very cie and helpful...its a shame, but u should get ur money back, life hazard man!

I think he's on Techpowerup mate, sure I saw the name floating round on there

EDIT: just been looking, not sure if it was on there now, as I can't find him. I know I saw his name on another forum last week and he wasn't banned
 
yep they banned him too mate, some times he was helpfull but theres alot of other reason why we all banned him that dont need going into
 
Ive had a refund for my money which I paid him for the work, but im not letting my hopes build up of this being sorted until he corrects the problem with the unit or sorts it out via dhl and gets some resolution made up.

But at least having the unit and my money back is a start...
