For anyone that signs up with IDNet and requires webspace I'll offer up a chunk of my own hosting for you free of charge as a way of saying thanks for being a part of :anisx: and using IDNet's services.

Please PM or email me if you'd like to discuss webhosting. At the moment I'm thinking 15mb w/ ur own subdomain @ fragtek.com just to have a small place to put your page.

Cheers for the offer but I found these guys:

http://www.macoman.co.uk/

500 meg space and 7.5gig monthly bandwidth for only £20 a year!

I'm currently using Boltblue, but since I upgraded to 2mb, the service has been awful (although tech support has been spot-on!). I'm gonna try to switch to IDNET too. Sounds like a good offer. Is the IDNET tech support really as good as people are saying? Are the tech support UK based? I can't stand those overseas call centres!

As the number of users with an ISP increases, does their speed of service drop?

It depends on what kind of backbone they have to be honest.

IDNet have overengineered their networks so that they can cope with future users.

However some ISP's wait until their networks slow to a crawl and everyone starts complaining before upgrading their backbones.

And as for IDNet's support. I think they should get some kind of award - they are honestly excelent.

Final question - Will my idnet broadband be linked to my membership on here? I mean if, for example and I'm not saying I'm going to, I get banned for getting drunk and posting nude pictures of myself, or I decide that I don't want to come on here any more because I'm getting abuse for having a crappy setup, would SysXtreme have a word with idnet and get me booted off my broadband?

No, your broadband wouldnt get disconnected. However we do encourage you stay on the forum, we may even be able to help you improve your PC :)

The main thing is that if you like IDNet, you spread the word. IDNet will be updating their website within the next week with some new price schemes. So be sure to send some of your friends/family their way :)

Also, if you post nude pics of yourself on the site, we'd probably put them on the front page for a few days to make you regret your actions, rather than ban you ;)

I might have to quit life if that happens again

So no you won't be.

But we would ask that you point family and friends in IDNET's direction. Especially after the new pricing is introduced: it will be very nice :)

Is the £14.95 offer for a set period of time and then reverting to mormal pricing or ad infinitum?

ie. do you pay £14.95 for say a year and then get moved onto standard rates or is it simply for as long as you keep the contract?

From the best of my knowledge you stay at your original contract price of 14.95 :beerchug:

As with any other broadband provider prices can be subject to change. No ISP can commit to a set price 'for life'.

However IDNet are always seeking to be competitive with other ISP's that offer the same service. Also remember that IDNet have no minimum contract period, so you are free to leave at any time.

This deal is certainly not a 'set time period' deal tho.

Would I have to transfer my phone line, and how much does the activation fee cost as I'm not on braodband?

You need a BT phone line. IDNet dont take over your phone line bills or any other rubbish like that.

Activation is £40 (£47 inc VAT). This charge is from BT so all ISP's will charge the same (or get the money back from you in other ways).
