Idnet sound like they are the bomb but i wonder why i havent heard of them or there is not much info on them if they are so good??

by the way i have joined up to them next monday sometime!!

IDNet primarily deal with businesses, so this might be why you havn't heard of them before. I signed up with them over a year ago and have never experienced any issues at all.

I might consider this cos Blueyonder is doing my head in. I got my 1mb broadband upgraded to 4mb for free, but what they conveniently forgot to mention is that "your internet may randomly go tits up for about an hour or so every day". :o

IMO, the problem with cable internet is that 'internet' isnt their main concern. They are more fussed with pushing TV/Phone packages than they are looking after their Broadband customers.

I've sent you an email XMS, the offer sounds great I'm hoping to get my MAC from my current provider ASAP but if they play up and it looks like I may not get it before XMas then I may take the hit to and pay the £47 new connection fee.

Yeah, sometimes you have to be a bit pushy when it comes to getting the MAC code. Don't let them work their way out of it ;)

Read through this and most of my questions have been answered.

I'm with eclipse (who have gone downhill) and I was thinking of migrating to Zen.

You reckon these are better than zen?

This offer makes them cheaper.

How come they've laid it on for you guys? - It's less than half their normal price.

So no minimum contract and no migration fee with a mac code. Got to be worth a go - got to be better than the way eclipse is going.

Are they doing this offer elsewhere?

If too many people sign up on the cheap it may stretch their support lines.

I've been with Zen and IMO IDNet are better. They have better support and their backbones arn't bogged down like Zen's.

This is the only place on the internet that you'll find this offer. :)

I wouldnt worry about their support lines being stretched just yet, and i place every confidence in them to take the right course of action should they ever start to get overwhelmed.

do IDnet have any plans for ADSL2+ or LLU - they really should update their web site ;)

still happy with my IDnet connection :D

Do you get an email account and some webspace with the account?

They don't provide free webspace, but i do think you get an email account. I'll find out for certain and let you know.

You get unlimited email addresses with IDnet - No web space however or no User portal.

you basically just get a really good connection with out the junk.

You have to email them to sort out an Inbox.

im still not sure how they can offer it at this price, i swear the price from bt for a 2mb uncapped line is around the £15 mark. meaning there making next to nothing profit.

This sooo reminds me of gio internet :S

Maybe a silly question but what happened to Gio??

Well they offered this to us a special offer. I'd imagine that they wouldn't spec out a price without considering the cost first. IDNET are a very sensible company with excellent service so I very much doubt that they would offer something that they could not afford. They knew we had 600members when we made the deal :)

i have been with Metronet for the past two years and been very happy with imb for £13.75 but now as with all good ISP they have been bought by Plusnet.so i am looking for a new home.this looks very tempting

roscoe 2000 this is what happened

Execs at troubled ISP Gio Internet Ltd are preparing to close down the company and have stopped taking on new customers.

It's unclear when the ISP will be put out of its misery but Irvine-based Gio's last remaining customers - some 3,500 dial-up users - have been told their service will be pulled in less than a month.

gio internet are scum, they offered a broadband service 512k uncapped, unlimited for around £20. now at that time it was dirt cheap, it worked out there were making 20p per connnection a month. that didnt include the cost of the upkeep of the business and support. so they lost lots of money. didnt pay their suppler who then took them too court. I found out recently that gio were still taking money out of my account. i thought it was my new ISP so didnt think anything of it. untill this month they suspended my account and said that they have had no payment since jan. talk about great account. let an account go unpaid for 11 months. hence why im looking for a new isp :D

Sorry guys, can i ask that we keep this thread on the topic of IDNet broadband.

Should you want to discuss other providers, please use the off-topic area.
