Wahoo, my migration went through yesterday - I'm now connected at 1Mbps (unfortunatly that's the maximum my line can handle).

Thanks SX and IDNet.

Excellent news. Remember to put your friends/family/colleagues in the direction of IDNet's site if you like their service :)

Got my migration date - 10 January. I'll end up paying myself out of my notice period with PlusNet, but it's bloody well worth it ;)

Certainly will, I've already been telling people in the office!

I think they made so much money from that program that none of them need to worry about the price of broadband.

How's Lucy Davis?

Mine didn't complete yesterday as BT tried to put 2mb on my line and it can only just handle 1mb (59db) so I had to request another MAC number today :(

Just a little info ...

The deal is 14.99 no caps / unmanaged etc so if you are signing on this deal via SX then there is no 5gb limit.

Secondly those who are not sure about their contract with previous ISPs , you should check with your old provider if you need to give them any notice when you are leaving them , as most companys will try to get extra money from you stating there was 30 days notice in the contract but they will still give you the mac code and still charge you for extra month as you supposed to give them 30 days notice. So make sure to ask your old isp before migrating or canceling which in such case tell them before your billing date that you would like to migrate out 2 weeks before your next billing date so it works out roughly 30 days notice.

Thanks for info my current isp promise to deliver mac before close of business (fingers crossed}

That's exactly what happened to mine. BT didn't tell them they weren't putting it through and when my migration date passed Simon had to check with BT what had happened.

1 meg went through a week later :)

I am now on IDNet, and am very very happy! I also had the problem of trying to put 2mb through but can only get 1mb, but even so I kept the same migration date (we got another mac code to them within a day) and we finally got disconnected this afternoon, experienced downtime of around 40 minutes, and were back up (once I'd remembered to stick the new details in the router!).

Quickly did an ADSLGuide speedtest, and I'm getting faster speeds now with him downstairs downloading than I did with Supanet when we weren't doing anything! In the morning I'll do a better speedtest to see what the connection is really like.

Thank you so much :anisx:!

am with e7even still wont give mac no say within 15days can i join idnet can they get this mac thing sorted behind the scenes

its capped at 75gb bandwith

And the IDNet one isn't, so you can only get it in a cable area, costs twice the price, and you get 10x the bandwidth, but only 10% total download max. It is tricky imo, but tbh, a capped line is annoying if you max it out, especially nowadays when you have more than one computer/people using the net at the same time, and hard drive sizes are massive. The bandwidth is nice, but so is not having a capped connection. NTL also do an uncped service, at 2mb, which is similar to the IDNet one (not sure on price though).

Unlimited 2mb is £24.99 , says so unlimited downloads

10mb is £37.99

More reading on their website shows 1mb package has 3gb limit , 2mb package has 30gb limit and 10mb package has 75gb limit.

General Info :

Dont just see fancy images and adverts always read terms & conditions , user policys and try to save them on your pc for future use. As above figures was in terms and conditions but on main page it stated unlimited downloads and surf for 1mb and 2mb packages.

This is where IDNET differs from those silly companys , thats why its great , its superb. No triks :D

There is an unlimited 2mb service, although you probably have to request NTL to switch you from 10mb to 2mb, and it probably costs the same as the 10mb.

Although I am on IDNet and the connection is excellent, I did find it strange how they don't actually have any terms of service or description of their network on their website, and I had to email them to find them out.

Well its not good asking them at the end of the day they can say no your limit is this etc as thats whats in user policy etc.

As for IDNet terms and conditions they do have them on their website at http://www.idnet.net/downloads/broadband_termsandconditions.pdf

I think their website needs a better menu etc...

Maybe, although they would have to issue a new contract if they were modifying the service.

Those terms and conditions are a new addition to the site, they weren't there when I joined.

found out my exchange is going to be adsl2 enabled in the next few months.

best email idnet see if they have any plans for providing adsl2 connections :D

EDIT: Message sent :D
