IDNET do supply their own hardware but I think its ok - rather than amazing.

[I am due to go cut over to inet on Monday at 1800hrs.i would like to thank XMS……for his help in this momentous life changing move. I like him, I don’t care what the rest of you say, he may be an Essex boy but he’s not all bad.
I am a new member of the forum and would like if possible to put my point of view re the seemingly contentious subject of people who join just for the broadband. I found your site not because I was looking for a new broadband provider but because I was looking for an interesting forum .I am sure this applies to most of the other new joiners. However it so happened that Metronet had just been taken over by Plusnet and it suited me to change.
There seems to be certain paranoia amongst some of the more established members that all new members will join Inet and then leave. They will not leave if they find the forum interesting, and In my humble opinion this is the only criteria. The constant banging on about people joining for this reason is counter productive and will result in the loss of members. It does not follow that because you do not see me posting every five minuets I am not reading the posts and taking an interest in the forum.
I do hope this post does not upset anyone but it was something I felt I needed to say.
So to précis what I have said”if the forum is interesting I will stay if not I will go” simple as that.

as i appear to only be able to get 1mb - however alot of my downloads start at 300-400kbps then slowly go down to 120kpbs, This gave me the impression my connection was being throttled some what and that i could possibly go faster! So got on to IDnet and they have told BT to updgrade, Hopfully it will work!

Well Im pretty sure that even when your downloads are reporting 300-400kbps they are ACTUAlly going at ~120kbps max, this is becuase most windows download reports are wrong, if you try using netmeter (free software) next time you download and compare its bandwith monitor to the download speed the download window is showing im sure you see this to be true.
Anyways i hope you are able to upgrade to 2mb.
