i'll try, but i don't know a thing about overclocking. i'm more into software than hardware. .

Hi, my e-mail address is on the first page of this thread. But please note as Dav0s has said, before i can accept any orders you need 25 posts ;)

out of curiosity, why the need for posts? i'll try the humour section, not sure that my humour is anything like those in this forum's though

I spok to ADSL4Less this morning and they have promised me my MAC by tomorrow evening.

I'll belive it when I see it, but I can hope - the sooner I got away the better, the performance at the moment is rubbish.

Thought as much, no MAC.

Just rang up - now Tuesday.

I can see this dragging on for a while

Threaten to report them to Ofcom. I seem to recall reading somewhere that ISP's that support MAC migrations have to subscribe to Ofcom's Migration code of practice, which states that they cannot withhold a MAC code from you, and i believe that they must provide it within 3 days.

Sorry but posts in that area of the forum do not increase your post count.

The reason for the posts is that the offer is for SysXtreme members. SysXtreme is a place for computer chat, specifically overclocking and modifying. If you don't have anything to contribute to that topic, then you probably shouldn't be here :(

Thanks for that, very interesting.

I will wait till Tuesday. If I've still not received it then I will try the Ofcom tactic.

Cheers.

Mick.

A MAC key can be generated on the spot and does not take time to produce - especially not days!

As XMS said threaten to report them to ofcom and dont wait.

Its stupid that they are saying you have to wait a for you your MAC code, personally i wouldnt stand for it..

I asked for a MAC from metronet and it took about 8 hours, even plusnet previously sent in 1 day. so your ISP sounds crappy to be messing you about.

Please tell me Idnet arent going to get taken over by Plusnet soon please.

haha - ive just moved from Plus net - i have to say their customer support has always been great and i had a MAC code with in 40mins but they IDnet is cheaper - Plusnets service was gradually getting worse with the increased popularitiy - Me and others in our CS clan who are all on PN were getting pings of 200 some nights and it was only us, which is really shitty.

IDnet as far as i know have a solid network built to cope with alot more users than they have!

and with the £5-6 im saving a month ive invested in some really decent webhosting - and iam still spending less than £21.99 per month internet/hosting combined

www.budget-hosting.co.uk / www.ikhost.net

^ good service - if you sign up make sure you ask to get put on their british server unless your from the USA ;)

- a small plug for the guys at ikhost :D

Nah, IDNet would tell them to stick it i'm sure ;)

I believe IDNet have been around since 1996 (or something close to that date), so they aint about to get taken over by some n00b broadband company ;)

ok, i'll be off then. lol. don't know what to say to that really. just being honest. i'm a secretary not an it person. love installing stuff but get scared when it comes to opening up the computer. . .

That seems well cheap. Budget hosting from £5 per year! But there is nothing else on the site to give more information, I want to compare them to these guys.

Assuming I'm right of course - but I can't see it being less than that.

More important may be what your line will support - mine only does 1mB but that's fast enough.

I pay £5 a month put i share the cost with Trippledence (forum member) so its £2.50 and i get 1gb webspace and 60gb bandwidth - 50mysql databases unlimited email accounts, unlimited subdomains and with my package i can host 3 other domains if i want - you get a good admin section (powered by direct admin) and its UK hostes in the Redbus datacenter.
