Was to have a neck plate made up, So managed to source a black nickel plate and had it engraved, there are some imperfections on it, but ill be having it slightly buffed and polished, should remove 99% of them.

They are some unbranded ceramic single coils but I've used them before and really like the diversity in tone that they offer. Can easily be swapped out for an expensive set when he learns to play and wants something more high end

As long as he knows to get the right ones depending on the style of music he plays

I made the mistake of getting ones providing high volume once, which made metal music sound terrible. Low vol pickups are far better with higher gain.
