Am I the only one? (ROTTR)

Seriously am I the only person in the whole world that thinks this game is 90% waffle, cut scenes and story and only 10% actual gaming?

I wouldn't mind so much but I skipped the story on BLOPS 3 and then it made no sense. I'm trying really hard to listen to and watch the story so I know what I'm doing but it just feels like 5 minute movie, run and jump and shoot some people then another movie

I'm actually finding it rather boring

This game is awesome, its much better than the first, gameplay and graphic wise!

It looks better that's for sure. Gameplay however? I am yet to see anything truly new yet and I'm six hours in. I just hope it's longer than the first.

I mean I've only just got into Syria, but i've played the initial prologue and that part twice, on 2 completely different machines, and the the core mechanics seem very different in a positive way compared to the first, and the graphics they're in a different league.

Maybe you set your expectations way too high? I mean the cut scenes are necessary, I wouldn't want play the game reading walls and walls of text to get background information and inside info

First game was boring. Felt like playing an Uncharted copy but the story was not nearly as good. Haven't bothered to get the new one. Probably won't ever tbh
But I do agree and have read a review where it's basically doing the same thing over and over.

Maybe it's just that I am able to see past the incredible graphics (and they are incredible btw I'm not denying that) and just see it for what it is?

Seriously, sit down, play it and watch EVERY movie and cut scene without skipping anything, then add your play time between those two and see how long you actually get at the controls. It really isn't very long, and the gameplay is identical to the first which isn't a bad thing but it should be better than the first and it just isn't. Same moves, same combat same everything.

I'm not ragging on the story either it's actually quite interesting and engaging at times I just think there's too much of it vs the actual time you get to play and that it's taking away from the game.
