Hello!
My current system while being old and ugly still has some decent performance left and it seems that I managed to get it stable again after I had a few problems with my overclocks. Now I'm currently saving money for a new system and I'm wondering if it's worth aiming at a broadwell system even if I had the money earlier than its release.
I lately heard in some tech podcast (I think it was in the wan show? Not sure, though) that Intel actually addressed the heat problems with Maxwell and are aiming to do better with Broadwell. Also the 1150 socket will not be utilized beyond Maxwell CPUs.
With that in mind - would you still recommend a Maxwell system or would you wait for Broadwell to come out?
I'm a gamer and my current system still gets the job done although it caughs quite a bit by now. And the looks are frankly a disgrace for any hardware enthusiast but that's another story.
My current system:
Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.7Ghz
Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6
6GB DDR2 Ram @ 800Mhz
MSI GTX760 Gaming
Corsair CX600m
Edit: I had a small brainfart there - I meant Haswell, not Maxwell.
