Oky guys supprise supprise time.

Some of you may wake up to this , this morning.

For those who managed to get genuine keys from tech net with the little mess up they had not so long back might be in for a bit of a shock.

this morning just 5 min ago windows 7 popped up with a message saying that this version of windows 7 may not be genuine.

Seemingly MS have started fixing there little mistake that they did.

How ever after a few seconds you can carry on with you OS.

So its not all lost but hay ho a little heads up for you guys just in case it happens to you.

out of 10 reboots so far its only pooped up once. I just clicked on carry on lol ...

just dont do any updates esle it may kick in.

I wonder if u just experienced something that u can also experience with a genuine Vista.

It is possible, particularly on an oc'd rig, and during pushing the oc, for the OS to think u've changed the cpu, or by inference, other components due to a threshold u take the fsb over. If ur around that threshold for 24/7 it can be that u drop in and out of it.

I've had this a few times oc'ing rigs during a test period. U restart the pc and before the desktop appears a plain screen with a window in the center saying "this copy of windows is not genuine, we need to authorize or something" and iirc u click n the ok thing and it goes to desktop. Another restart and it starts normally.

Just a thought.

Actually rav you are probably right, i swapped out the cpu back from a E5200 to my Q6600 and 1 reboot later it came up ...

But i after i pressed ignore (cannot remember the button) it then went. I have swapped over the CPU 3 times before that happened.
