which is better?

ok i'm way out of touch with pcs at the mo, been a long time since i messed with em.I currently have a Radeon 9600 AGP 256mb card in my pc and have just purchased off ebay a Radeon x1600 AGP 512mb card which i'm looking forward to receiving shortly, now someone please tell me i've done the right thing and i will see an improvement???

Hmm yes I guess you will see an increase in performance then :) Your CPU will probably be your next bottleneck though.

got my x1600 pro card yesterday so naturally it went straight in, does it matter wether i use the vga port or the dvi port with a vga adaptor? also what should the agp aperture size be set to in the bios?

The aperture size is only important if ur gfx card has less than 256m on it. If it has more, u can select the minimum allowable.

As far as the vga connector is concerned, if u r using a vga cable, use the vga socket. Don`t think there's any difference really, but it'll help not having an extra chunk of plastic sticking out the back :p
