Hello everybody,

I have been a long time follower of the website and the youtube channels but have always been more active on r/hardware and r/overclocking instead of the forums and did not attend the far better conversation here as much as I should have.

I have been a long time PC gamer and then a hardware enthusiast. The first computer I saw was my dad's thikpad back in 1995 up until which I had gamed on a handheld Tetris (which still works and is used daily), Atari and Nintendo only. I built my first custom build when I was 11 on a Pentium 4 1.5GHz, 256MB RDRAM, 120GB HDD, and a Geforce 2. I know, a very many wrong decisions right in that first build :-D

I didn't have any money growing up as it is not customary to work whilst in lower education where I live. So the next time I built a whole new pc after gradual upgrades to the old one through the course of 7 years was at 2008 with a Q9550, 4GB DDR2, and a 9800GX2 (! just because). This PC never worked as well as I hoped, it always had cooling issues (go figure, with that furnace of GPUs in there), and barely overclocked above the stock. This was my first overclocking attempt and even though that PC lived for only 2 years before the graphics card literally melted its plastic down, this was my introduction to hardware as a hobby because I wanted to cool better, overclock better, and ultimately always have a better price performance from then onwards.

Now 10 some years later I have built so many computers for myself, friends, institutions, and companies included that I cannot count it. I am an overclocking and price/performance enthusiast if that latter one is a thing. I enjoy building, maintaining, and actually cleaning my PCs (I have a mild OCD with very severe hyperactivity on the side so every time I get bored I clean my PC and my desk).

I have also more recently developed that enthusiasm for PC hardware I have had for cars and started to maintain my own car too. So I hope I can join in on conversations there too.

My current build is a 7800x at 4.8 w/ ~1.205v and a Corsair H110i GT, TUF x299 Mark 1, 32GB 3200MHz RAM at 14-15-16-32-1 (the best the kit can do is this unfortunately), Gigabyte G1 1080 with NZXT G10 hybrid aio adapter for a thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer, Seasonic X1050 PSU in a broken apart Corsair Air 540 case. The 540 case has been repainted twice, had its side window modified for a fan once, then modified for a glass window instead of the acrylic, now completely stripped of all its panels in preparation for custom aluminium panels and tempered glass window. I'm very much looking forward to sharing a finished state of this in a week or two.

Thank you for reading this far, I tend to talk a lot and I'm happy to join in to the forums as hopefully an active member, have a great weekend everybody!
