im guessing you want 939 .... you could go for the sandiego 4000+ that would work a treat

Dual Core doesn't help for games atm.. But it doesn't mean that it won't in the future. I'd go for the 4400+ because it has the extra L2 cache of the 4800+ unlike the 4200+ and the 4600+ which both have less. It's the best bang for the buck.

If you just want single core go with the 4000+ San Diego and overclock it like a mofo :)

i v found that an article recently about overclocking the dual-core amd and they overclocked quite good ( i think ). let me find the article :D

Edit: Link

they reached 2.6ghz easily from 2.2ghz which isn't that bad

I will get an X2 when I can afford one. Multi-threaded games will be the future.

And the 4400 or the 4700 are your best bet.

You'll sacrifice a tiny bit of performance in games against the 4000+, but in everything else you will make up for it. That's IMO anyhoo :)

my mom won't let me spend $1100 on a new cpu even if it's my money so i think im gonna go w/ a 4000+...

Even if it is your money ? You have the possibility to get computer parts with you parents money ?

Anyway. You schould go with a good 4000 San Diego, not sooo expensive and very well perfroming.

Edit -> If i look at the prices at newegg i would say dont go with the 4000. Go with the 3700, its compared to the 4000 Cheap and wont be that much worse.

Hmmm... i cant remember when my parents gave me money for anything which was in connection with my pc last time.

haha the only comp part i got from parents was a case for my bday and case+psu for christmas. im still wondering if the price justifies the difference between a 3700 and a 4000..i don't wanna do any serious oc'ing cuz im lazy :(
