Where Did All the Folders Go?

defo seems to have happened, only have the GPU working so think i am going to delete / uninstall all fah and start again.

In the meantime have jumped a few points since i have been back, aiming for top 100 merry Xmas

Been folding for the past few weeks and have noticed that we are down to only 15 active folders. I just thought I'd make a post to encourage people to come back and help out this good cause! There must be some people on here who can spare a few hours a day to do some folding.

Once again "Where Did All the Folders Go?"
We are down to only 9 active folders, it is not summer time yet so no excuses.

I think a lot only have single rigs but if they choose to only use said rig for games then folding is obviously going to take a back seat. I know we have one member with a 1080 Ti or is it two? but again i think they only have a single rig.

If Zotac would like to hurry along with a 1080 Ti mini or a Titan Xp mini then i'd be all over one like a fat kid on a Cupcake :p

I did think about the 1080 mini but i think i'd be wasting my money as it wouldn't be a big enough PPD increase over my 1070 to warrant the outlay.

Yeah, where is everyone? Maybe we could run another contest and drum up some more support. Folding doesn't really change at all so hyping it and keeping it on people's minds is pretty tough.

I'll be honest, I moved to a team with a more active community.

As long as you fold mate that's all that matters, we'd like your pts here but $%*& happens.

EVGA has always had a strong folding community, the type of guys that live for folding and live on the forum. Here we're not so much like that.

Here its... Turn on, check client now and then, problem? No, good carry on with life / other interests, Yes, check forums & post lol

I'm still Folding! My PC pretty much Folds 24/7 when I'm not playing a game!

I get its not that busy here, but it just takes a few to kick that off.

Ive posted a brought attention to this a few times, I cant keep up with it all the time though. I can wave my flag then its down to you boys :/

I think for the size of the team you boys are doing epic anyways x

Good to see you're still folding.

You've done plenty, Tom. I think the support from you and OC3D has been great and is more than what we expected for sure.

Folding really isn't that exciting when you compare it against something like gaming. There is nothing flashy about it and it costs money to contribute. Also, you don't get instant results. I think that's why you see so many people come and go. I've been doing this for over 10 years now (9 with current ID) and not much has changed. It's a helluva lot more stable than it used to be, but instant gratification is not something anyone can expect.

Pretty much agree with what blah said. with the maturing of GPU folding things have calmed down quite a lot. Not a bunch of news/discussion worthy happenings in F@H ATM.

@trawetSluaP

I can understand your reason for going elsewhere, have considered it myself, but I have way to much invested here to consider starting over on another team. G/L dude!:)

Well it looks like you fellas could use some help, so here I am ;) Good to see some of the old timers still here folding away.

Finally upgraded my trusty old R9 270 to a GTX 1080Ti FE. It's folding but I have it severely underclocked until I'm able to put it under water. At 80C I thought the air coming out of the back vent was going to melt my HDMI cable. :p

Welcome back, and as Tom said, keep us updated.

Will do. This will be my first foray into watercooling so I'm just hoping I don't destroy anything :D Of course EK hasn't shipped my order yet so it will probably be a couple weeks before I'm able to dive in.

I really need to go back to it. The cost though, so many other things to spend money on. Stupid hobbies. Just take it slow and test everything thoroughly and you'll be fine. I had nightmares about my system leaking a few days after I set it up. Ran quietly for 2 years without an issue, I didn't even change the fluid. When I disassembled the system the water was still crystal clear.

Yeah, I'm excited to try it out. The blower on this card is making me go deaf :D
