Watch Dogs Pc specs

I'll link you when its processed, provided youtube didn't wreck it too much.

The h264 encoder on the i5 4670K is very good for 1080p recording btw

Looking forward to it.

You know what would be cool ?

You and Tom doing a collaboration, He does the hardware and you do the software seeing as you are always up on the news I think that would be awesome :)

I am getting rather into recording gameplay, just figuring out which is the best editing softwares etc atm.

Considering maybe doing a few game reviews on the forum review section, perhaps with a a accompanying video. Perhaps even write a guide on gameplay recording on PC.

That would be snazzy :)

As said maybe you could talk it over with the guv but you doing game reviews on the side would be pretty cool :D

While I go think OC3D is lacking in the game critique department, apart from the bashing of terrible PC ports of course. It would be nice to see a little bit more gaming content, especially given that Tom Doesn't put much gameplay in his reviews anymore :(.

Here is a bit on gameplay from Watch Watch Dogs with the E3 Mod, a link to the mod is in the description.

I didn't do any editing to the game apart from the mod/ config file, no sweet FX like most of the other videos out there.

Skip to around 2.45 for the night time rain bits, where the mods affects are most substantial.

I didn't do any Youtube friendly encoding here, just straight from bandicam to youtube, so youtube did take away some of the detail :(.

Vegas is the best editing software imo.
that said I use lightworks at the moment, which is free but so damn complicated.

Yeah, I was messing with Lightworks yesterday. Its a shame the free version doesn't allow me to export the videos higher than 720p :(.

yeah :I.
Its a learning experience though :D. If you're like me and don't want to spend money you'll end up trying them all with trials and stuff anyway. Vegas/almost any other sony editing product gets my stamp of approval tbh.

Yeah, I'm considering canceling netflix for a month to properly try lightworks at 1080p.

ATM I'm just so pleased with how well the GPU in the 4670K is handling recording, no slowdown whatsoever at 1080p but can't handle 1440p well.

Ok, so I got bored this morning, had installed Watchdogs on this (ready for the oobe generalize for when new cpu arrives) so thought would have a little laugh at it running....

This is with sli disabled....

According to fraps, I was getting between 15 and 28 fps, except every few minutes, the computer had a brain fart, and froze for 30 seconds while it was catching up lol

That is after about half an hours play time, (after that the freezing drove me mad)

sli enabled results to follow

For those who not seen previous posts, that is on following hardware

AMD 64 x2 5200+ (2.6GHz)
Asus ROG Crosshair
6GB DDR2 @ 800MHZ
Asus ROG Striker Platinum (x2 in sli)

Personally I dont think the old girl (the AMD 64 x2) did too bad considering it is about 8yrs old now lol (Although the graphics cards took most the work for that game)

I turned off sli for that 1, I just ran it again through the same section to where I ended it before.

fraps bouncing between 15 and 36 fps, computer still having brain fart but not quite as often.

And there is the sli results in GPU-z, they look identical but they are of the different cards (Look at TDP as it only thing that different)

BTW the settings was on Ultra, and at 1680 x 1050 res as thats all the monitor can handle as not got a 1080 (or better) yet.

It could be a CPU issue, it is a next gen game after all and your athlon is pretty old. Whats the CPU usage like?

100% on both cores lol, memory dropped to about 4GB in use and 2GB page file used.

Its just about playable, if you can put up with the cpu crying etc, but temps on it got to 60°c and held there with the H100i working well, although the fans on that didn't spin much faster than when they idle :)

This afternoon if I get bored, I might stick 1 of the strikers in other PC and install watchdogs on there and run it, see how much difference a Q8300 with 8GB ram will make compared to the 1st lot of GPU-z things where I turned sli off, so effectively running just 1 card :D

For recording stuff lately I've been mucking about with Shadowplay.. have to say I'm very impressed at this point...

Might give it a try then shortly and upload a little vid of the Twins and an AMD 64x2 running it, they you can all see the brain fart from the cpu lol
