Watch Dogs Pc specs

My performance for the game so far is great, I run it at highest setting, with SMAA and motion blur turned off at 1440p with a framerate of around 45-50 average with a very occasional dip to 35 or so.

So far my r9 290 is coping pretty well with it, its a shame i can't get any better AA though. There is something about ubisoft games which makes me want AA, same as AC4, don't quite know why.

These are the settings ive currently got it working alright on, about 42-48 FPS which isnt too bad

I'm a bit late with playing Watch_Dogs as I was away. Having had some time with it, I'm a bit disappointed.

I'm getting a few of the problems others are reporting such as intermittent performance (with 2x 780ti's, wtf?), especially while driving or looking around sharply (motion blurr off), and it just doesn't look as good as promised. Enabling the vsync makes it a flickering mess for me.

Gameplay for me is fragmented and I'm just not getting in to it. I'm only an hour or so in, and I'm already thinking of parking it and playing something else.

I'll have another visit to Chicago after the next patch.

Had a good few hours on the game yesterday and am enjoying it now, as I said before though it is quite hard with some frustrating moments. It seems after installing the patch (PS4) there are a few bugs though, car came zooming into a car park but looked like it was stuck to a line, went over the grass and made a sudden stop before not knowing what the f was going on, some vehicles on the highway seemed to jitter about a bit, the radio sometimes goes off for a few seconds then starts the song from the beginning again, and being able to play the radio whilst your not in a vehicle.

Cops are to easy to loose, just head for the sea, get in and your safe, just shoot the sniper out the chopper and it fly's away, you've lost the cops.

It's pretty satisfying, joining a player's game, hacking them and then doing one before they even spot you.

I got hacked again yesterday but couldn't find him anywhere, turned out he was on the tracks above the street, cheeky sod.

I'd love to know why this game uses nearly 4GB of VRAM when playing at 1080P on my mates Titan rig, The visuals just don't justify it IMHO.

Its next gen. Who cares what it looks like if it just takes up vram because (as we all know) THATS NEXT GEN as f**k brah.
Honestly I think Ubisoft is going to become the next ea at this rate.

Shame, Not looking forward to playing this on my 780 at this rate, Hows it perform on yours if you have the game ?

Not even got it yet :I.

I'll try it out on my 8320 with 280x when it arrives as I'm still waiting on the mobo/ram for my new build.

This was on the news page of another tech site/forum from a user called kadzait24. The following text is taken from the site "Our forum member kadzait24 has released two new videos, showing off the updated "Real Ultra Quality" settings that were achieved via its modded XML.

How sexy is this?

So... I had my first crash in the game. I could reproduce it too. If I have any TXAA set in display, and then I try to hack any sign/billboard my game will crash. That is the only problem I have had with the game.

After having a good look through this it appears that it's mainly a gamma reduction and by making the specular on objects tighter it gives a sort of bloom effect and a large contrast between colours; however, the lighting looks completely broken at night - it's way too dark and light sources don't affect the environment like they should.

I've also had a read through the Guru3D thread and the guy just seems like a moron tbh.

I thought the ran effects had been added/greatly improved? I'm not sure how the game looks maxed out on PC but I thought it looked pretty sweet. Doh you mentioned Guru3D, didn't want to mention it incase I get told off lol.

There is another thread on Guru3D with a mod that fixes a few things and adds the effects that were supposed to be in the PC version.
All the files for the stuff that should have been in the PC version are still in the game, the guy who made the thread on Guru has been able to enable them.

He is still working on it and tweaking things but with the release he has out so far makes the game actually look like a PC game now and not just a console port. The DoF is still a bit messed up but it still makes the game look better.

Google

After hours testing... Watch Dogs (E3 Bloom effect working)

to find the thread.

Here is a screenshot (not mine)

Also here is how much the devs cared about the PC version.
This line was found in a file called deferredambient.inc.fx

Holy shit and you guys still keep giving them money.
Because this is obviously not the first time they've done this? Ubisoft's PC stuff wasn't actually that bad until relatively recently. Obviously they've really started to reverse that now.

The whole Uplay shit, basically all of their games being poorly optimized, DLCs fer days. It's a large publisher/developer, just look at what they did with Assassin's Creed, have a look on the wiki page, the amount of games they made to milk that franchise in the past few years is unreal.
Not as bad as EA != good PC developer.
