I love the show, we have the American version here in the states now, But it kind of sucks. I just DL the Brit version.

I watched the USA version off it.

It was crap.

Oh look at me I can drive a car at 50MPH on a open road..............................BORING

Can't wait for more UK TopGear! Xmas one was great. pissed myself all the way through it.

Meh, Top Gear just ain't as good as it used to be the obvious scripted jokes and situations are to obvious.

Stupid question this BUT, why am i paying for my TV licence for USA to watch BBC shows for free ....

About time the BBC did advertising and we lost the stupid TV licence.

It's even worse for me, I don't watch TV at all and i'm forced to pay a TV license anyway (even though I may or may not pay it

) but I can still get fined for not paying even though I don't watch it, thanks BBC

As much as I like Top Gear. I didn't enjoy the christmas special in india. Everything seemed forced. The only good bit was the cricket thing at the end.

I also watched the christmas special, and yes, it is so damned scripted. I wish they could just keep it real, Less may happen but at least I would get into it more. I only watch for the competitions anyway, I really like them, and do not care about the rest of the show.

And what is this about a TV license? WTF is that all about?

You have to pay £145.50 to the BBC/government every year if you have a tv in your house (£50 if you have a black and white tv rofl)

I agree. This was one of the weakest "specials" yet in my view and felt very fake and forced as you say. Still, by all accounts the team have realised they'd lost the plot a bit so great things are promised in the new series.

Re: The BBC licence tax... If you have ANY device capable of recieving a colour TV signal you have to pay a licence fee. I happen to have a large LCD TV on one of my PC's so have to pay - even though it has no arial attached. Actually, this TV can ONLY pick up analogue broadcasts as it has no freeview capability, combine this with the fact that the analogue signal was turned off last year in our area I should have valid justification to NOT pay a licence as my TV cannot pick up freeview...even if I plugged an arial in to it!

I don't watch any live TV, I can't even if I want to. I do however stream some stuff and have DVD's of numerous shows (copied to media PC) as well as movies - I really should get a bluray player but don't want to fall into "buy everything again on Blueray" trap that many of my friends have...

Scoob.

From tvlicensing.co.uk:

You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder.

I watch topgear because im a massive car fan and will have a heart attack if i see sexy cars on the streets, i've been watching topgear since the very begining and i will agree that its not as original as it use to be and that the christmas 2011 was alot scripted but it still was a good laugh like the previous special episodes and i also prefer it much over fifth gear which i find boring.

Yeah! It feels so forced and scripted, like someone was hitting these "three magic dudes" with cattle prod in the neck, in order to keep the filming go on. I'm personally disappointed with last series of TG.
