That made me lol for some odd reason

. I can't believe something that seems so harmless can cause so much trouble.

When you log in, does a message pop up saying: "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" or words to that effect?

Check the event logs to see if it shows anything odd at the time of shutdown.

Today I was folding while doing other things on my computer and got this weird restart bug. It's happened before while I've been folding overnight where it looks like the PC has restarted itself normally and has no error messages, but has never happened while I'm using the PC! Imagine how frustrated I was when I randomly saw the "He's dead Jim" Chrome error and then "Shutting Down" for no apparent reason! Weird stuff I say, weird stuff.

Oh well, today is going to be bad day PPD wise

3 computers off for 24 hours, think sombody popped a circuit, reset and didn't say anything. Last time that happened the wife plugged in a 1800 watt hair dryer into a curcuit with these same 3 computers on it

Yeah, was a 6901, currently working on a 6904, but could need a faster/heavier threaded computer for these calculations

I have only gotten 6903's, 6904 is a big one. What is the time per frame around an hour? 4 days of work but worth what 380,000 points?

The i7-970 tpf is 63m30s at 4.2ghz and the 3930k at 45m50s folding the 6904.I use this to calculate,and its very accurate http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php

Yes I use the calculator it's quite accurate, and I like how you can add the WU upload time. I hope I get to try at least one 6904 before end of the month just to say I did. I'm guessing around 60 min and 68 min on my 2 CPU's. 4+ days of work though. I remember a while back when the client wasn't so forgiving of a power glitch. I'd sure hate to corrupt one on those at 98%.

It's hovering around 51 minutes with me, but that is in VirtualBox. On a generic use computer, so not exactly optimal.

Tried that a couple of times last year when i was folding on 4 i7-970.Hopefully i wont get any now.Always adds a couple of nudges on vcore and qpi/vtt when its stable.Remember i went from

My GPU temps have increased massively so I'm not folding for the time being. I'm gunna blast some compressed air through it to try and reduce the temps. If that doesn't help much, I will be replacing the TIM.

how exactly do i get the bigger work units?
keep getting small ppd ones which my cpu breezes through in like 45seconds tpf and some are 4mins but i want to try my hand at some of the much bigger stuff lol

To do the bigadv units you need a hexcore with 12 threads using linux and i think they changed it to 16 cores(threads) in windows.There is some tweaks though,but i dont know them,if you want to fold 6901 wu`s in windows.
