Those little annoying F@H things ..

My week off work has been pretty bittersweet as I get to sleep all day

, but my PPD suffers because of the gaming

It is killing me right now:

Day 1: Room was getting really hot (rig shut down automatically to protect from overheating) <-- Had to make sure the shades are down and put the fans on high SOLVED

Day 2: BSOD <-- VCORE too low SOLVED

Day 3: Windows had logged me out all programs stopped <-- Not solved ran for 4 hrs according to logs, no idea what happened. Any ideas? When I came back I had to log back in and everything seems to be working... Strange

Do you have a macro for your k/b or mouse? Maybe something caused it to activate

I don't, I also had disabled the screensaver, disabled sleep in power saving options, the display doesn't go to sleep either (I turn it off manually), just double-checked this... I have no clue what is causing this.

I came home from work and saw the login screen, when I logged back in all the programs weren't running anymore (F@H, CoreTemp, Afterburner, etc.) Pretty annoying... Especially since for the last 3 days there always was something that went wrong.

Ohh well, since this is the first time this particular problem occured I am just going to assume that this was a one-off problem. Wish me luck

Sure it wasn't Windows update being it's usual self?

Rebooted my systems a few times even after disabling it.

Is anyone getting awful PPD on both SMP and GPU3?

I got a new GPU work unit on my GTX460 worth 7718 points and even running 800mhz core on the 460 I'm only getting 8,850 PPD.

SMP is only 1,200 PPD on my 3ghz core 2 (dual)dual, which previously would have been .... 7000+ PPD while running the GPU.

I'll say this, first and formost I'll fold no matter the PPD on a particular work unit. That said though please stop screwing the points up

My points have dropped by 5000 on my i7/460 rig. I didn't even check to see which client is down in points.

I can only have one rig set up at the moment so I cant check the 2600k

The whole system is only a hair past 10k PPD

Edit:

I just noticed this new GPU work units worth 7718 points is not loading the GPU to 99/100%. It's hovering around 86%

Yep, there is an issue with the new GPU WUs. My temp 460 is only hitting about 85-90%. I read a post about it yesterday on the folding forums.

On my GTX 460 I have gone back to the V7 client which was getting the 3843 point work units and is currently finishing one off.

GPU tracker after finishing the 7718 grabbed one of the 5xxx point work units which I assume would get me 10/11k PPD like they use to but didn't hand around long enough to find out.

I'm hopeing the V7 client carries on getting the 3843 (13500ish ppd)wus as I need to catch up what I lost running the new one.

When the SMP work unit is done I'm going to run SMP on the V7 too as 1200 PPD on 4 C2D cores running 3ghz is diabolical.

Ah, I clocked my HT Link to 2.25Ghz from 2Ghz to see if I could get the units done faster and this must have happened at the same time because both 2.25Ghz and the age old stable clock before are still getting C++ errors

Bit hot here atm and I'v decided to take the hint from mother nature and rebuild my water loop. I'll be back but not sure quite when, it might be a week or so.

Bah, now it will be even longer before we overtake Guru

Ah well, hopefully it will go smoothly for you.

Does WCing gear hold it's value very well in resale? So I know for future builds if it's worth WCing over extreme air coolers.
