The secret

oh err...

you know

That's dead right? you've pulled the chips off the pcb... ?

i noticed that too. must be why only two slots are filled. i personally dont think the g series look good in the slightest but i def think that the paint has ruined it. far too messy looking. does anyone know if a layer of paint will affect the heat sink properties as its essentially a layer of insulation ontop of what was already there in the first place.

Hey!...

Yeah i know this build didn't go so well that i expected, sorry for the bad paint on the ram, i think i Could do better, so.. There will be no ram
Coolers, so I feel kinda emberesed for this at this moment but hopefully I could cover my mistakes with something else, but actually I can't cover them I'll make something that will look better..... So i will sit at
My desk and make a make a new build plan... So all I can say is that I'm sorry.....

And if you want I could give you smaller
Updates instead of a big one....

Treat it as a learning exercise, we all start somewhere, and we've all Flamingo'd up paint jobs in the past (yes we have lads).

You may have bitten of a little more than you can chew, but lick your wounds, take he positive stuff out of it and get cracking again.

BTW did you spray the Motherboard heatsinks or brush by hand? The first images look like they've got overspray on them and the paint looks like a heavy enamel coat or even smoothright paint. Might be an idea to see if they come off easy, that way you can strip the paint off then re paint them off board.

Haha, we have indeed! I still need to redo the paint job on the holding bracket
for the Raystorm blocks for HELIOS. I put on too thick a coat of paint (well, several)
and it was all nice and good until I tried to put the brackets back on the blocks
again, and woops, the close fit between the block and the bracket did not leave
enough room for my paint coat and ripped it off in parts. Ah well, I'll sand it down
and redo it, such is life.

Don't feel too bad mate, sh!it happens (or is happened, from time to time  ),
the most important part you have already done: You've realized you corked up and
are intending to fix your mistakes in the future.

And whenever you feel bad about screwing up, just remember that a technician once
forgot to mention to anyone that he had removed the bolts securing a satellite to
its platform and when his fellow workers started to tip the platform the satellite fell
over and got banged up to the tune of 135 million USD. :o
Imagine putting that on your resume...

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I've read your "little" conversation and you gave me a positive feeling, thank you!

I'm thinking of buying the black ram coolers? what do you think?

That'd be fine, the other option would be to strip the paint off the originals and have another go. Nothing to lose at this point.

Can you tell/show us what paint you're using, we might be able to help you there.
