8mbps

unlimited downloads

6.50 a month

Wow that company has been shut down for years now. They got bought by talk talk. I used pipex back in the day and they were awesome but then they started to cap my download speed so i rang them up and cancelled straight away. So have you truly got unlimited downloads or do u get throttled back if you use it to much.

i havent been throttled back yet, and all our bills still say pipex, ...i download about 160+ gb a month, and my speed over the month stays consistant...

How in the hell do people download that much lol.

The most I do is about 40-50gb a month and thats after patching and steam games etc.

I dont do illegal tho. Idnet has always been reliable for me. Nice people too. Shame we still dont have adsl2 never mind cable...

Virgin ADSL here. I have experienced tightening of the old thumb screw on many occasions. Mind you the speed where I am is rubbish anyway.

Sky - simple and fairly cheap. No caps on downloads, and never seen any throttling either and sometimes I might go through 100GB in a couple of days or 5Gb over a month so I'm quite sporadic in that sense.

it's usually faster than that, but I suppose it's good for around 8 ish at night.

I'm rocking O2 and signed up before they brought in their fair usage stuff.

The top package now has either 150gb or 250gb fair usuage a month policy but I'm not governed by that.

On BT unlimited, can't get Virgins fancy fiber optic where I live yet and every other company rents the BT lines, couldn't see a real point choosing anyone else as my money is still going indirectly to BT.

So it's either that or a mobile hot-spot.

It dont work like that. If you go with a company like BE* or talk talk they get the money you pay them for the broadband none of it goes to BT. The only thing you pay BT for is the line rental which everyone has to pay if you want to use the phone. Most ISP cut BT out all together and you don't have to pay them a thing.

BT as it stands are the worst company go go with, there prices are over priced and the service is rubbish.

Sounds like I got the BT line rental confused with the broadband at some point.

I had no say in what company we got broadband from anyway so thankfully, my wrongful thinking didn't do any harm.

My speed is pretty amazing (paying for up-to 30mb/s) probably becasue I live about 200 metres from the nearest internet exchange.

My upload isn't that amazing as my area hasn't had the upload upgrade yet. Also one thing to note is that VM aren't fully unlimited the cap is 1TB a month.

ime moving away in 2week to a massive student aria and i wanted sky bu then found out most houses come with sky so i cert wont be goin sky root as student dl alot and watch youtube so speeds will be .5 lol

You should have a look at BE* broadband. i have been with them for 2 years now and they will give you the fastest speed a phone line can handle (if you close enough to the exchange) From experience i can say they are truly unlimited and do not cap or throttle you usage. You should take a look https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/homepage

Virgin media 50meg here and its fairly awsome, any time i check im never more than than 1-2% down from my quoted speeds and before when i was on 20 meg it was never more than 1-2% down either, the download limits before throttling for virgin (non 50/100 meg packages as they have zero limits) only count for each peak times slot, so 10am-3pm ish has X limit and 4am-9pm ish has X limit, the higher packages the higher the limit/smaller the peak times window.

Full list of speeds and how much before you get throttled for a few hours can be found HERE

Oh and the upload speed of all packages is being upped area by area at the moment by a good 2-3 times that packages current ul speed.
