The best budget GTX?

I will be getting a motherboard that allows for SLI and in the future I would like to SLI but at the moment I can only afford a graphics card for around 250€.

I am looking for an Nvidia one (obviously) that is 4GB at least, but there are quite a lot to choose from and I am unsure of many of the differences.

On the site I am looking at, they have the following:

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 Gaming G1 Windforce 4GB GDDR5 245€
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 OC Windforce 4GB GDDR5 226€
Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti Strix OC 4GB GDDR5 183€
MSI GTX960 4GD5T 4GB DDR5 244€
MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4GB GDDR5 247€

What is the main feature I should be looking at? The 183€ calls my name, mainly for the price, but being so much cheaper I assume there must be a huge difference between that and the others.

Why obviously an Nvidia card? For the mid-range AMD cards tend to give you a bit more gaming performance for the money.

Also you can forget about the 750 Ti as it can not be ran in SLI Out of all the 960s, they'll most likely perform about the same so I'd go for whichever is cheapest/quietest/best looking.

Have you had a look at 950s yet? They seem pretty decent from what I've heard, and you can SLI them.

I meant obviously because the motherboard I am getting doesn't support crossfire

The 950 is quite cheap but where I am looking they only have 2GB cards and they range from 166€ to 210€ so I would prefer to pay that bit more for the 4GB.

Thanks a lot Feronix :D

Erhm, as far as I know ANY motherboard that supports SLI also supports CorssfireX, but not all boads that support CrossfireX also support SLI.

This is due to the fact that some board's second PCI-E 16x slots are only wired for 4x, which is the minimum for AMD cards to run, but the minimum on Nvidia card is 8x. If it supports SLI it should also support Crossfire. What board have you got?

Well the specifications on that page do state

Supports NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology
Supports NVIDIA® 2-Way SLI™ Technology
Supports AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX™ Technology
Supports AMD 3-Way CrossFireX™ Technology

:p

(Them saying quad GPU support is only when you have 2 dual-GPU cards).
It is a little weird that they didn't mention 2-way CrossfireX, but if it supports 2-way SLI AND 3-way/quad- CrossfireX, it's safe to assume it'll run 2-way

lol Ok thanks :D

I didn't see that on the website so I assumed them only saying Nvidia SLI on the motherboard meant it would only use Nvidia haha noob.

I was looking at the R9 380 aswell at first until I saw that.

Thanks a lot :D
