Well there is some interesting reads on a few discoveries / theories Here and Here
The thing I was talking about however was something one of my old physics teachers was pretty excited about and i've heard nothing of since. Apparently two atoms (not sure what of, might've been subatomic particles) were collided at full speed and some of the fragments produced left the collision at massive speed and disappeared, off of all monitoring equipment, only to reappear on the same trajectory further out in the chamber and just under the speed of light. My teacher reckoned they had discovered another dimension, something to do with antimatter or time had stopped. I didnt really take much interest at the time.
There was also a case recently, which I dont think involved CERN where what was basically a black hole was created for a nanosecond.
How much is fact I dont know but I would love to read more on both......... infact, google here I come
