Stopping cap whine?

So, I have a 7950, overclocked to 1ghz, voltage at 1050mV and memory clock maxed out at 1575mhz. It's a reference design card as I was going to watercool, but not too sure if I will now. temps max at 74 degrees through unigine heaven.
But, I'm getting a bit of cap whine.

I know it doesnt actually do much harm, but it's a little disheartening as it just feels as if it's gunna break.

Anything I can do to stop it, other than lowering the clocks? Or will I just have have to sacrifice the e-peen of a 1ghz gpu :L

i know the feeling, mine whines its ass off when the shader engines are introduced in benchmarks, but because i have my gpu clocked at 1160mhz and the memory at 1730mhz, i simply figure it something to live with, plus most of my gaming is done under headphone conditions so don't hear it much lol

Have either of you tried a different PSU?

If a different PSU does not help you will just have to live with it. or sound proof the inside of your case.

I dont mind the noise so much. I have an AX850 so shouldnt really have to change that.

I was just looking for reassurance really that i wasnt killing the card :)

here's a suggestion i got from another forum - leave the card on overnight running a loop of unigine! get it whining all night if you can stand it, and within a few days it will be gone (if you're lucky)

my old gtx 295 didnt just whine, when loading games it would make alsorts of funky noises. my 7950 (reference pcb but a dcII Top card) gives me no whine but the cooler sucks. ill hit the same temps as you due to a stupid design fault and so i cant run it at 1100 core stabily
