Election day has passed now, and the counting has begun. So have those who can vote done so? I did, and we had a mayoral election here to replace the **** that was Martin Winter. I can't wait for the results to see how Labour done, I reckon they have lost out big time today

I was going to vote UKIP but never got around to doing it. Really they all lie and never do as they promise. The same with Obama and Brown, they promised evacuation from Iraw within the next 12 hours of being elected, did they? No.

Voting for some1 cos they don't seem as bad as some1 else (or atleast the reporters havent focused on them enough yet - so u don't know anything) isn't exactly a good reason.

Voting for some1 for the sake of it makes a mockery of the whole deal and really shows how poor the so called democratic process is.

Also, you'll never find a party with whom you'll agree on every aspect, so you have to look at the big changes and how htey will affect you.

Yeah I have been watching that too I live in Doncaster, and we had a mayoral election here. The previous mayor, Martin Winter refused to stand down after the death of the baby who was on the Social Services at risk list here, and there were also alot of other reasons for people calling for him to step down, such as him spending over £1m on publicity for the mayoral office. So that was the biggie here in Doncaster. The councillors here called a vote of no confidence ages ago, but he still refused to step down. He was a labour mayor.

I can very happily say that democracy has had it's victory, and the POS Winter is no longer mayor of Donny!! Yay party time!!! I saw Winter preening himself once in the ton centre, getting ready to do a TV interview, I was praying that someone would just run up and chin him We now have a mayor from the English Democrats party (never heard of em, but hey ho).

I saw them on my ballot sheet. The sub title was "Putting England first", so I assumed they were another BNP type party. Having a quick read of their propaganda, they seem ok, bu somewhat of a one policy party.
