Reputation?

What this "Reputation" thing against each user profile?

Should I be leaving reputation for people who help me? Is that what it's intended for?

I did a quick forum search for it (I don't want to repeat already asked questions), but I couldn't see anything.

If you think someone has helped etc you can give them reputation points.

Unless they are a moderator as they are above everyone else

yea basically rep anyone that goes out of their way to help you or help others

Yup, the rep system is a reward system for helpful users and helps them to establish a good reputation amongst the community. Always give reps where due. In fact, I haven't given reps in a while, I'll need to remember to do that

When I look in the user control panel, I have a list of reps given to me, some have a green dot near them others have gray... whats the gray for?

I'm pretty sure those are reps given by people who don't have enough of their own reps, so you didn't get any actual points from them
