Refurbished power supply. Worth it?

Hello everyone. As the title states, I'm looking at a refurbished power supply. Corsair has a bit of a sale going on right now with their refurbished and its a wicked deal when compared to the same PSU's in store. Over $120 savings for the one I'm looking at.

So that's all great and who doesn't want to save $120 to spend elsewhere on the system? Question is though, Have any of you bought a refurbished PSU and how has it held up over time?

Only really need to know the warranty tbh

Then look at the original review - and consider what the newer models bring to the table

Refurbished PSUs are as good as a new one IMO. When they receive them back they replace or repair any bad components, so it leaves with a clean bill of health. I've had plenty of Corsair refurbished products (AIOs, SSDs etc) and they've all been fine.

The warranty may be less, but a decent working PSU will last a while any ways. One thing I would not buy, though, is a refurb GPU, because they are usually baked and never last.

And yeah, make sure it's a good unit that's got all of the modern stuff like 80+ silver at least etc.

Haven't had the experience of using a refurbed one, but when it comes to replacements, I always go for new ones — fresh and totally in shape to take the beating. If you had yours refurbed, try that on for size, and see what happens.
