Upgrade and knock on effect

Hello I'm warren . And I've been slowly upgrading my pc this year. My budget is £110 every two weeks ( I might be getting inheritance soon and that could be £1000 but that's not definite) so my current pc is a ryzen 5 1600
on a b350 msi tomahawk.
I have 16 gigs or vengeance DDR4 3000 MHz .
A gtx 1080 .
A Corsair 659 rmx PSU
A 125 ssd and a 3tb WD harddrive
Also a cooler master 120 aui radiator
Dual monitors one is 1080p at 144 MHz
And 1080p at 60hz
So it's a few years old and it was all bought at once so some of it was budgeted. And now I'm slowly upgrading I got a new room and desk so I can have more RGB options I am just going to talk about that first. But I looking to buy a Corsair case . Either the new 4000x or the 465x . I have a dark core RGB and a k95 plat keyboard and void pro headphones so I very much like the Corsair eco system and there I que and RGB options . I'm going to be getting the case and a hydro 100i aio to finish the RGB etc. Now for the upgrades. I was looking at the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F . But then Nvidia released the 3080 and the inheritance so I think maybe the b550 instead ? And then the CPU now I know AMD will be releasing new chips soon. But I'm not sure if I should save for a 3600 x or save for the new chips . is the 3600x a worthy upgrade from my 1600 ? I'm not sure how much more they will be . But hopefully I'll be able to buy the 3080 card and a new chip at the same time to go together . But I should also upgrade my power supply if I do get a 3080 ? Thank you for taking the time to read all this and any advice would be very appreciated

Yes, the 3600x is a worthy upgrade. However you may want to wait a month and see what the 4000 series is saying first. I hear it's going to be much faster, even as good as Intel for gaming.

That said if your board doesn't support it then it's not much use to you.

Depending on the age of the PSU I would upgrade. A mate of mine just put a 2080Ti on his 550w Seasonic and it dropped to 11.4v. He had to buy a new one.

As AA says I'd hold off untill the 4000 news 1 it may drop the price of the 3000's meaning you can pick up a 3700x or better, or the 4000 is so much better it's worth waiting for it's release
All so if you are looking at 3080 you may want to consider a better monitor, going by toms graphs your 1080 will max your current 1 in most games

Yes if I do upgrade I will be buying a new monitor later . And yes as I will be buying amother board . Case and Cooler. That will take me over a month . And buy that time the 4000 CPUs should be out lol so I can make a more informed decision then

Yeah good plan. Wait to see what happens with AMD GPUs too fella, as you won't realistically get a 3080 until at least then any way.
