Random Artwork Thread

After seeing a thread on signatures i thought it would be good idea to make a thread so people can show off their latest and greatest photoshop creations. Now, i know there's an OC3D wallpaper thread, but as far as i know there's no random artwork type thread. So, post whatever backgrounds, signatures, wallpapers etc... you have, but just make sure it's not rude or offensive else your get a kick in the backside.

Just to clarify also, this is NOT a thread to request any sort of artwork to be made for you, this is a thread to JUST show off your creations.

Now, here's my latest signature:

Been working on a wallpaper for a while. It's a bit rough around the edges but this is as good as it's going to get. (I used the same texture as featured in the SLS sig above btw)

No idea why Flickr uploaded it in 1024x576, it's supposed to be 1920x1080 but eh well.

Nice work man!

I have some constructive criticism for you though, hope you don't mind

I think it would look nicer if you got took the overlay texture away from the car, just erase it from the car roughly, then maybe blur and smudge the texture a bit around the edges of the car, that will make it flow a little better.

The rough edges you mention (around the car, I assume?) can be removed by doing a bit of blurring around the cars edges, just a little bit though, and maybe only on the back of the car, just try it a couple of times until you feel it flows nicely..

Another option for the edges is also duplicating the layer the car is on, put the duplicate under the layer of the actual car, apply a filter effect to it, either a blur effect, something like a distort or liquify effect, og anything else you think will be nice, and then changing the blending mode of the layer to whatever looks nice (something like 'screen', 'overlay', or 'lighten')..

Also, try having some shadow on the car, that should look a bit better... (drop shadow from the layer style options for example)

Maybe you could also do something cool with the Lotus logo? The stuff about duplicating I mentioned above maybe, or doing something with the texture around it.

Some cool work guys, here are some illustrations/drawings i've done in the past:

Wow! That is really cool, how do you do something like that? It's stuff I've always wanted to be able to do, never been able to however... I don't even know where to start with something like that!

Anyway, really nice work!

Thanks man, I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet, it lets me use a pressure sensitive pen to draw on the screen and paint like you would on canvas but easier, in the summer i'm going to be doing more work with it just a bit caught up on college work at the minute.

Here are some old sigs that I made years ago:

Andy that's some awesome stuff mate, love it!

Redgy thanks for the great advice man, i appreciate it. I'll be sure to try it out when i next modify the wallpaper

That's a really nice improvement!

It all flows better now, and it also feels like the car is the center of the wallpaper, before it was all very blended in, and the car didn't stick out from the rest of the background

It is the same with your sig, maybe you should try the same on that?

Deviant art can be a pain sometimes sifting through all the pages but that's one place I use as well, I can seem to find good gradient and brush packs but never textures

I use DeviantArt (http://www.deviantart.com/) a lot, Google for textures, Planetrenders (http://www.planetrenders.net/) for renders (obv), Colour Lovers (http://www.colourlovers.com/) for Palettes, Dafont (http://www.dafont.com/) and Fontsquirrel (http://www.fontsquirrel.com/) for fonts.

Nice work PetrolHead, some points i'd like to make is that you don't have to fill up the entire space with images/text, composition and empty space are just as important when making an image. Also try blending the images into the background a bit, duplicate a layer (Ctrl + J) and smudge the layer underneath a bit, try using different layer styles like Overlay/Linear Dodge/Soft Light etc, really helps blending stuff together.

Not really artwork but these are a couple of macro pictures of my dead P8P67 I took with my old camera a while ago.
