Soon i am hoping to begin my first PC build but i was wondering what would be the best power supply around 650 Watts and also i don't really want to spend above 100 pounds?

I have started to look at some power supplies such as OCZ, Seasonic etc, but am not sure which one i should buy.

I would highly recommend a corsair.

You can get a TX650 for less than £80. If you can get a TX650m (m stands for modular) then you will save some room in your case.

definatly get a corsair like master&puppets says

hopefully ull be able to built ur beauty soon

Thanks, but also another reason why i looked at the OCZ PSU was that it was fully modular and only costs 80 pounds.

Fully modular is a fairly silly gimmick unless your using it as a 2nd unit to power extra graphics cards in a setup like quad SLI with something like cpu + 2x gpu on psu 1 and 2x GPU on psu 2 and the 2nd unit will only be used for the gpu power cables.

I cant speak for the ZT series personaly but one of the reviews i saw for the 650w unit said it would only deliver around 75% of its rated output before powering off tho they might have just got a dud unit, and ive had a few OCZ units over the years (ranging from their low end to high end versions of the time) and none have been overly great, as you will need the 24pin power cable anyway fully modular shouldnt be a reason to get the OCZ unit over another from say corsair that have proven themself time and time again psu after psu.

Ok, but the OCZ is 30 pounds cheaper than a Corsair AX650 Watts and also i have seen some very good reviews on it regardless of the fact of it only being 80 Plus Bronze compared to the AX650's 80 Plus Gold. Also i want to use a modular power supply as i have checked with the PSU to see what cables come with it and i will not need to use very many, maybe only 4 - 5 plugged into the PSU and this will help air flow and make the case look nicer inside as i will be using Bitfenix Alchemy Cables and may be doing a window mod for the case.

Trust me mate, you do NOT want to cheap out on your power supply as it could cost you your entire system.

The Corsair AX650 is a fully modular power supply so you should have no complaints there, and like you said it has 80+ Gold rated efficiency compared to the OCZ's Bronze. And guess what they have to do to accomplish said efficiency..

Correct! They have to use higher quality components!

Like everyone else has said buy a quality PSU now and save yourself any problems in the future. I read so many comments like this when buying my PSU and ended up spending an extra 30 quid for something of superior quality (My HX750w) i love it! I hope to keep this PSU as i upgrade for a while too so money well spent i'd say
