Oooh! Shinies!
Just to ask, have you flushed the rads before use? That's really important.

I accidentally flushed the first rad I bought when I was leak testing it. "Accidentally" because I hadn't read anything about flushing rads at that point. I don't remember flushing the second one. It's been a while since it arrived. Having done a lot more research since then I will not make that mistake again. :(

UPDATE

This holiday weekend was spent relaxing with my wife. I worked on the rig but didn't get any free time to toil on my case.

Here is the power switch I copped from CaseLabs. This will be mounted in a "stealth" position. I will not be using the stock front I/O panel. So, I decided to allow the stock power button to serve as a dummy switch. I will be the only one that knows how to turn on SkyNET when I'm done. Kinda like Biff's car in the Back to the Future franchise.

This is my rig with all the components and wire extensions. I didn't get the 8-Pin EPS extension because it won't show that much when installed, and the stock Corsair cables are sleeved black. It should just blend in when finally installed. I might change my mind as the build progresses. Playing with the white tubing over the past couple of weeks has sold me on using a white colored coolant. The kinking you see isn't as bad or restrictive as they look. The angle I used for the pic makes it look terrible. And bleeding that "St. Louis Arch" of a connection was no picnic. The copper base of the CPU block will not be that visible through the coolant, so it not matching the base of the memory block is fine.

The CPU to memory block connection will be replaced with some Bitspower BPS90s, C48s, and Crystal Link. I have decided to use acrylic tubing through out my build pending how this Crystal Link looks when installed. Acrylic tubing appears to be the current craze in liquid cooling. I recently viewed a build log with the new Corsair 900D using all acrylic. I like acrylic in short lengths. Not going from one side of the case to the other. The routing I have planned for my build is perfect for acrylic because aesthetically it will prevent by MoBo from looking smothered, allowing the components to be the main focus. And it will cut down on the amount of fittings I will need. That stuff should arrive this weekend.

I'm also thinking about painting the exterior of my case gun metal gray. I thing that would look killer against the aluminum Lian Li case wheels.:D The guts will remain flat black.

Stay tuned...

Indeed, acrylic tubing seems to be quite en vogue nowadays. Not that I mind. :)

Looking forward to how things go.

Adventures with acrylic...

EhaKla9.jpg

I must say I am impressed with this connection. It is WAY better than the previous connection [pictured above this post]. I am definitely using acrylic tubing for my entire build...at least the viewable sections, that is. :p

I have yet to find any time to toil on my case. My wife keeps taking off work, and, I'd rather spend time with her. I might be able to get some time in today. I am looking at the Free Bench and getting that itch to continue modding it too. I want to add pass through holes for the SATA, PCI-E, and 24-pin. I also want to use some thin aluminum stock to cover the 'failed fan hole" from an earlier discontinued build with. It's bothering me. Outside of that the Free Bench will always look like "just a case turned on its side", and I want to retain that character.

We will see what today brings. Might send the wife to get her nails done so I can get some work done. :D

Don't stress out too much, I'd say your priorities are quite in the right order...

And agreed, the acrylic tubing is really smexy.

All done...for now

Now Phase 2 can begin. I can make measurements for the acrylic tube routing. This case is mad heavy all ready! It is creating a concave in my desk. And that is with ONE rad! Geezus... Possibly this weekend I can throw some black on the bare metal. I need to take the legs off of a small table in the garage so I can place that underneath this case to cure the concave. So excited!:D

Sub-par adhesive is on the Velcro provided with the Phobya 6 3-pin splitter. What adhesive can I use here that will not adversely effect the PCB?

As you can probably guess I am SUPER stoked at this point. It's all coming together nicely. Bitspower fittings and Crystal Link should be here Tuesday so I can get the top part of the loop all acrylic. Anticipation is motivation.

Such a neat loop, but the hose from the RAM Block to the Reservoir kind of ruins it a bit IMO
Could've been a tad cleaner. Other than that I like your build! :)

UPDATE!!! :D

Adventures in acrylic 2

After leak testing, and experiencing the joy of accomplishment...my SSD laid an egg. Spent the last 2hrs fixing it. Maybe I will install anit-virus software...nah.

On to the win

When I get brave enough I'll cop some of that E22 acrylic and make the GPU - upper rad connection a solid piece. ;)

I switched the lower rad around so that when I receive the third 480 [that's not a typo - there will be THREE 480s] minimal installation will be required. As I look at my build I can't help but think "Damn...this is overkill".

All these fittings and coolant exhausted my proceeds from the last bank I robbed. Will have to pull another lick to make my final order.

Stay tuned...
