Alot of nice toys there to play with, you're making me drool.
I've changed things a bit m8. Sold the w/c kit and just about gave away the Prommie :( Sold the Raptors and got two 200GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10s and 3 Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA drives. System still in bits though, had to nick the PSU and haven't gotten around to swapping it back yet. Presently trialling the Audigy, Logitechs and monitor with my Sys1. Plus I've around 300 DVDs and CD I am trying to catalog, cos funnily enough all them skinny clear boxes look the same :D

I've just got one of those ASUS Star Ice CPU fans. As several reviews have said the piccies are way too small. First had to take out the mobo and remove the grey plastic pins from the back - that releases the standard HSF black plastic frame. Then fitted the black spongy 'H' gasket and metal 'H' bar to the underside of the mobo and put 4 screws thru to fasten to the brass coloured pillars (four off). For the ABIT IC7Max3, the No11 H bar and the two No12 Pi-shaped bars are in the 'rotated' position for the P4 CPU. Trouble was the heat pipes from the copper block were not symmetrical and I had to machine (liar -Junior hacksaw!) the bit out, on the inside, where the word "ASUS" is stamped into one of the No12 bars so that the assembly didn't foul the heat pipes when assembled  Soz no piccies, camera battery is flat!

The ASUS fan is brill! Slapped on some of that cack they provide - thermal paste? - and managed to tighten the screws on the top. I decided to run it on auto to start with, running the temp sensor fixed to the copper block to the fan control wires. Just plugged in graphics card, IDE HDD and floppy and it posted straight away. I went into BIOS and looked at the temperatures, CPU (no load) @ 46°C with fan @ approx 2700 rpm, other mobo fans about 4600 rpm, but it is quieter than my laptop. The ASUS has some blue LEDs in it and looks nice - it wasnt too high either to slide in on the mobo tray.

So next I have to set everything up - a few questions for you all:-

1) I've a 3 drive SATA array and 2 IDE drives, gonna install XP SP2 from my slipstream disc - which drive set would you suggest for the OS the SATA or the IDE? This is initially gonna be an air benching rig fyi.

2) I want to shift all the progs (around 100) from this system to my bench rig. I've got migration s/w, is this the best way to do it? - my sys1 does not have SATA capability. The video and sound cards are in this system atm, but I want to move them too to the bench rig and put the XFX5200 in this sys and use a normal soundcard too

3) Any suggestions, I'm a newbie to benching

PS Will put camera on charge to take piccies tomorrow

Audigy fitted into mobo

Question...... why fit the sound card there?

I would've fitted it in the bottom PCI slot myself... or as near the bottom of the case as possible.

Anyway... apart from that.... looking good... nice choice of components.
