Orca

Awesome!!!!!!

That looks absolutely Awesome. i am just starting a build in the Caselabs STH10. I wish I had the skill, equipment & confidence to do something like yours. AWESOME. Best Regards, looking forward to all the forthcoming installments

King? lol I do appreciate the gesture but there are many many people better than me. Maybe the one with the biggest mouth?

I hope it all comes together squeeky clean, its been a while tbf!

Lol i like the size of your mouth ;)

out of curosity tom did you ever think about using the cosmos 2 and painting it white for Orca and why did you choose the stryker?

btw beautiful job so far =D

Ive said before I wanted a case to work on, other than painting it the Cosmos 2 didnt really inspire me. When Orca is done its not going to look like any other Stryker is it.......

I agree with that Tom.

Anyone can buy a case and get it painted. But to spend time and customize it to every personal aspect, that is what gets me right into my builds.

Having a case that is in a league of its own, and having it different from anyone else. That is what the end goal of a modder is :D And making it look pretty too ^_^

Tom, after the vid update, you aluded to bolting the case back together using
tinted stainless steel bolts. were those going to be a buttonhead socket screw?

do you know what process they are using for the tinting? 'cuz all i can find are
zinc oxide in white, yellow or black (rusters) and all the stainless is too
phoo-phoo shiney. very interested in the processing. my arc midi is un-rivoted
and looking for a solution.

have you finalized the front panel logo and media? your update was still up in the
air on media and "look"? ive looked into some air-brush artists (t-shirt cats) and
like a tattoo they seem to get detail in small places (ie lettering and fonts).

inspirational build, Tom.. really like the full-blown effort and processes you are
using.

so in true TTL fashion... moah pix! LOL!

No idea on the memorial logo/part yet. One of the YouTubers suggested I bin the switches on the top and put it there, and I have to say its an idea Im liking.

I think that's a great idea I think. But one question: if you do that, how are you going to turn it on? I know there are power buttons available at specialtech, like the lamptron ones. Which you can find in the "Switches" section.

EDIT: Two of these as power and reset switches should do ;) : http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop...ary-Switch-Black--Blue-LED-Ring-pid-9219.html

Ive got a selection of switches here anyways dude, location is the only thing I would need to decide and then pick the right switch for the job.

Tom,

Just watched your video about the Orca update for October and the plate. I did some very very quick paint pictures of the logo in both white and black which others may be able to see the idea of what you are talking about.

I have also included a vandal switch for the start. Just for a different thought really without having to play with other switches should you not want.

Anyways yeah I will stop rambling. Great mods.

Kind Regards,

Adam

Than black one looks epic Adam! it really didn't take you long to come up with that masterpiece, he only said the other day =D

Cheers whosbawss,

I watched the video like an hour ago and thought I would do a quick sketch to see what it would look like. It was literally 2 mins in paint of all things to do that.

If I had photoshop on work comp I may have done it on there and then added it to a picture of the standard case to give a better idea but alas nothing installed.

Kind Regards,

Adam

the project that made me decide on my new case ahhh :) would love to do a tribute build but i dont have money and no1 to do a tribute to, but i await more videos and updates on the project! keep em coming!

Sadly the Vandle switch idea wont work because I need the PCB below the old switches to stay there. I think the plate on its own looks awesome and will allow a larger font though

Yeah fair enough Tom.

That is a shame. A nice Delrin Vandal would have looked spot on to really give it that custom finish with either a blue or red light depending which highlight colour you wanted.

Anyways, can't wait to see the next stage Tom.

Kind Regards,

Adam
