Right then fellas, here's a little something we can all get involved in and that goes for the Guvnor too who in our first challenge has so far set the fastest lap in our first Project cars lap time challenge. Think you can take his crown?

The only rules are,

Use the car and track chosen for the challenge and post your times in the thread as a screen shot of the in game leader board, it's is that simple. All valid times will be added to the main Lap Times.

In - I expect a Nanna on a mobility scooter will beat me but I'll give it a crack.

I like this idea. Might finally have an excuse to get the game. To tan all your a** and show you how its done ;)

I'm definitely in this, been looking for a challenge and an excuse to break in my G29....

Is there still a similar thing with Assetto Corsa ?

EDIT:
After first few laps, damn this car understeers a lot.....2.48 not recorded as left the white lines. . . . more practice needed

Sorry guys I just smashed it out the park!

I'll stop and pick your ball up on the way to get mine ;)

Seriously though that's nice work - especially with a controller.

I struggle to get more than one clean, quick lap in a row. 2nd lap of the day today I blitzed it and haven't got close again -

Looks like I need to put on a snow suit and get back up in the loft.....

Ha I'm in a tank top and boardies and sweating like a pig. I'd rather have the cold I think!

Updated Leader Board, great job on the lap. I'm gunning for the guy that got the 2:43 with a Keyboard. :o

side tracking a little bit, and maybe requires a new thread. But without being inundated with answers. What is the best all rounder steering wheel/pedals to go for, G29?

Just picked up the game while at work. Ill download it later :)

Yeah that's crazy fast on the keyboard! Still you have 2nd fastest ever with a controller so that's an achievement in itself.

Depends on your budget. I use a G29 and it's not bad. I got it for $350 AUD on sale.

There are a lot better (and worse) out there and you get what you pay for. My issues are that it won't run off USB3 at all - I have to run it off an internal usb 2 header and sometimes you get phantom key presses - seems to be a known issue due the number of buttons and stuff crammed into the steering wheel the wiring loom is a bit below par.

The Fanatec CSL seems to be a great bundle but it's around $1000 however it's very upgradable if you become addicted.

Thrustmaster are well worth a look as well - more expensive again for the 300 and 500 but they have some entry level wheels as well.

I still have so many corners and bends I can shave a couple of seconds off, I'm not even using all the track on a few turns. Just playing with suspension, cambers and tire pressures at the moment to help loosen up the car as it's so rigid at stock, you might have noticed that some turns if you go too far it starts to skip.

I wanna chip in to this but we're moving house soon. If I drag out the wheel I'll get it in the neck, will have to wait till post-house-move. Be interesting to see where I fall within the driving curve of you lot :)

We are already in talks about the next challenge (Car/Track), but you do have 12 days to get a lap in. (might make an exception for you)

If you can keep historical leaderboards for each track/car challenge (so people can just chime in with a laptime on a course whenever) that'd be rad
