Project Cars Monthly Challenge - July/August

Here we go guys sorry for the delay, that said this challenge is going to be a tricky beast to tame a good time from. Huge props go to Warchild for a blinding lap last month, he raised the bar so high and even managed to hold off Bonkers for the very first time and in doing so also claimed a World #1 lap time but can he do it again or will we see a new contender. Best of luck guys.

The rules are simple,

Use the car and track chosen for the challenge and post your times in the thread as a screen shot of the in game leader board, it's that simple. All valid times will be added to the main Lap Times board.

Your challenge for the month of June is as follows Sakitto National with the Lotus 78 Cosworth.

Do we have a base time to beat for each map or is it whoever can be the fastest?

I'm just the messenger, it's all random.org at play here. I'm sure we've run Sakitto before though.

Just run the wheels off the car and set as fast a time as you can, there is no base line and just the track rules that's it.

EDIT:

3 laps and a time set (I know it's controller) I'll get the wheel out later.

Ooh might have to have a go at this one. Just come back from the Ring so feeling that race urge.

I can honestly see all of us fighting for world #1 I hit a 1:06:xxx at stock in 3 laps, it's a hell of a car to drive though.

You can post as many times as you like, you don't have to post just the one time.. you have until the end of next month to get in your fastest lap. I'll be giving it some more laps tomorrow once I've set the wheel up again. I'm aiming for sub 1:03:000's I hope as the Lotus is a twitchy beast.

Twitchy isn't even the word. I don't know how many times I've spun out on a corner in second gear. I managed 1:12 i think, but that because I'm holding back due to the spins. Especially on that last corner. On approach I'm all good, then BOOM goodbye back end.

We have bought a house, where i get my own room in the basement. So im already dreaming of a playseat and a wheel But it's not first on the list when moving into a house

ive only just realised im driving with no assists other than driving line....maybe i should stick TC OR ABS on xD maybe my spin outs would be less frequent and i can throw it into corners a bit more harsh.

Even with assists on, it wants to spin out. I can't even use manual gearing with the shifter because the course is so short. Using the paddles forces a consistent period in neutral which over the course of the lap loses time.

But I think Bonkers or I can easily get sub 1min. Managed 1.03 on default and I can see every where I can improve.

Damn that's sweet, im gonna have a mess around tonight. Im fairly new to all of this so im still learning when and where to use the best gears.

I use the shifter, i find myself only going upto 5th once. Rest of the track is 2nd or 3rd

Always run with TC off as it interferes way too much when exiting corners and loses you so much speed just be progressive with the throttle, I've found this car quite easy to drive to be honest thought the mustang was way twitchier.
