Project Cars 2 - July Return to F1 Special.

Here we are once again but by popular demand and with the return to the F1 season on the horizon I give you the OC3D F1 Shoot out!. Not going to lie this is a tricky beast especially pushed to the limits it's edge of the seat fast so enjoy guys and lets see who has what it takes to be top of this leader board.

The rules are simple,

Use the car and track chosen for the challenge and post your times in the thread as a screen shot of the in game leader board, it's that simple. All valid times will be added to the main Lap Times board.

Got a day left on that one fella, though I'm sure he'll take pole given his blistering time.

Been great seeing the F3 practice and start of F1 practice so far this morning, did some slow laps in a Formula C (F3-esque) car in Project Cars 2 between the real sessions just to get an idea of the track, might try to get a lap on the board after Formula 2 qually this evening. Lovely track, very atmospheric weather in the valleys this morning too

Got a few laps in before I make tea, got a 1.13:940 for today, found the "Stable" setup (The 2nd default setup) to be abit nicer with this one.

I think we need to allow custom setups, otherwise there is no way to reach top of the charts here.

Very true, I ended up with a 1.12.104 with the default setup today, could probably knock an additional 1sec off with a perfect lap but no default setup user has got into the top 100 still yeah.

I've not been back to this since, if anyone wants tips though remember this car has DRS(Activate where you want, auto closes when you brake) and ERS(Battery level below speedo but also time limited per lap), did a few laps in the F1 safety car (AMG GT R) before though to get abit of an idea of Bert Mylanders perspective and managed to get on the top 10 in a handful of laps(Its surprisingly quick for a road car, I got a 1.35.300)

You'll want to use the ERS during acceleration(After you've got traction) coming out of slow corners before long straights and DRS ofc whenever you're in a straight line with traction(And no real turns before your next braking zone).

Ahh that's a shame, what feels wrong about it? I found the default ("Loose") setup to be far too slidey for a single seater, but the "Stable" setup seemed about right. What games do you like for F1 cars? I've not had a chance to play many other PC racing sims since getting the wheel but was planning to spend more time with AC next

I don't like that top tier "Formula X" car they have in this game, almost feels like a hack, and I do wish there was something between their 2011 F1-esque "Formula A" car and the X

I'm not sure. I've had a few issues with this game and certain tracks/car combos. Cadwell Park equally feels wrong in quite a few cars. I prefer AC over pcars I think. However, I did adjust the fov and this track felt better.

There are many combinations that fail to impress. This one is one, and even the last race we did.

If these bad combos keep popping up ill lose interest. Nice big lap with some saloon/super car (not hyper) would be nice.

Silverstone?

I get what you mean though, I do like the challenge of these short laps in unconventional cars but I get it's not for everyone. (I'm only semi joking about Silverstone I know its another F1 double header track but in a saloon or something it's a good varied 2-3 min lap if you like the track)

The Ginettas feel pretty good on most tracks
