OC3D Throwback Thursday

Oh yes, this is totally made for me (well, not literally, but you get my point ;)).

Great to see Gigabyte's X58 OC board, I've been lusting after that for ages even though
it's a few years old by now. Might still buy one at some point if the stars ever align right. :wub:

Geek nostalgia!

My first upgrade was a Blizzard 68030/68882 40MHz with 32 MB RAM for my old Amiga. O_o;

Holy cow now that is a blast from the past! I had the Typhoon in my A1200 it was an awesome card, not as fast as the Blizzard but it was cheaper :)

I have an old rig here with a Athlon chip of some description in it with a 8600GT video card, I have also got a 9800GTX+ kicking about somewhere in my box of spares. Still got my x58 build which I have had about 4-5 years now with my trusty 930 in it...

Ah the memories!

Tom,

I've got a pair of Magic 3D II 12mb PCI SLI cards (3DFX Voodoo 2's). Would you like me to send you them for a really really old school video around the origins of multi-GPU setups. I'm also a bit of an old school collector of hardware myself and it would be great to have you go right back to when the madness all began. I am more than happy to cover postage both ways (as I would like them returned to my collection) in exchange for a simple shout out for sending them in the video. Give me a PM, I also have some other old collectibles I could send as well if you're interested.

Modzy.

Thats pretty cool dude - deffo remind me about this :D

i been overclocking older hardware for the last year, 19x 478 socket p4's ( almost all cost more in postage), moved onto 775 socket 14 dual cores an celerons so far ( all but 1 cost less than the postage) an 2 weeks ago before you made this vid tom i bought my 2nd an currently waiting for the 3rd gtx 260 to arrive ( average cost for all 3 is 58 quid inc p&p bargin central lol)

TBT sounds like a fun change of pace from time to time. I remember my sweet 9700 pro that I fried overclocking :(

939 FTW.I still have my DFI Lanparty ultra D,but the Opteron 165 that used live in it is dying,would love to get another one of those.Getting 3+ghz on one of those felt soooo good:lol:

Nice! :D That was my first ever rig and never overclocked, it's hard to believe that i used a £30 case with the psu with it :mellow: (my friends built me it, so i plead not guilty! :p) How things have changed! :p
