OC3D Throwback Thursday

Heh :p It was the best anyone had made/seen back then here :p His case was all glowy and spacious  I remember forcing people to play Lego star wars on that... was funny you could pull peoples limbs off as they were trying to run lol

I do enjoy these little looks into the past, one thing i would like to see is the evolution of the Rampage Motherboards.

Did you ever manage to collect them all Tom?

I totally love this idea as you well know, I wouldn't say to do full reviews as such as that would be too time consuming what with OS and stuff but just little things like differences in slots and ram type etc.

Love this idea, old hardware is always good to look back at.

Wish i hadn't sold my Abit IP35 (not the pro or the -E model) motherboard as it was an awesome board where i first stared overclocking. Was able to get my E2180 2GHz upto 3GHz 24/7 and i think 3.2GHz for my own benchmarking.

Just seen the video and man i soo wanted that HD3870X2 back in the day but i only ever had a regular Asus 3870, this one to be exact with COH artwork.

Anyone remember this mighty leaf blower, the Nvidia Geforce FX 5800 Ultra?

TTL, if you ever see one of those for cheap grab it, i think it is still louder then a reference 290X

Ohhh the memories here are "in your face" - Dicehunter

My old Voodoo2 before I swapped out for dual Banshees.

Nice, getting back to your roots.

I'm a bit of a hoarder myself, still have an original Pentium 90 mobo in the shed, ,remember edo ram, still using the "Philips " case it came in, one of those desktop flip tower jobs, heavily modded by now of course.

You could cherry pick and do a "best of generation/chipset". Or a repurpose old gear into Linux boxes/folding, show people how to restore/repair. get yer hands dirty.

Obviously labours of love only as there's no $$$ in it , but if it generates tube or website traffic then it's not a waste. If its something u love and it's not hurting then I say phook it , do it man.

As always , luv the vids, onya guv

I remember 7970s... wait..

My first GPU was a HD5450, at the time i thought i could game on it, how i was wrong. My dream GPU in the day was a 590.

Geek nostalgia!

My first upgrade was a Blizzard 68030/68882 40MHz with 32 MB RAM for my old Amiga. O_o;

Moving on to PCs... remember trying to tame Llamas or whattever in Ultima Online. :P

And now just trying to out cs / harass people in Dota 2. :O

yes we definatly need to do this, I was still running a q6600 at 3.6 in a xfx 780i with a gtx 260 running on the ragged edge at xmas which still played games well enough at 1080p including bf3 at medium to high!! which I suddenly decided to upgrade in the new year with a z87 sniper & 4670k with a 270x for now till the higher end maxwells are out.

My first socket was 939, i didn't have a clue... my mates built it for me back then.

939 FTW.I still have my DFI Lanparty ultra D,but the Opteron 165 that used live in it is dying, would love to get another one of those.Getting 3+ghz on one of those felt soooo good:lol:

I can remember my P4, man that thing rocked when I first got it, in fact i still use it for storing excess files and for just generally for it's retro epicness xD
