OC3D Forum Tutorial Video

G'day all as the title suggests I would like to ask someone to PLEASE make a tutorial video on how to correctly post links and video's and anything else relevant to correctly using OC3D's forums so we don't keep getting our asses kicked for doing it wrong.
Moderators then wont have to keep fixing things and those of us without much skill in this area will have a much better understanding of how to do things and a reference guide we can go back to and hopefully will make everyone's lives easier.
THANK YOU

I think a video is completely out of the question for something like this. Just isn't really worth Tom's time.

If there's something you need help with, feel free to PM any of the mods and we'll point you in the right direction.

We do have various sticky threads over the forums regarding rules, and guidelines for posting youtube videos and things like that. If there's anything more specific that you're asking, or you think we should have a guide for then let us know and we'll do our best to sort it.

Maybe not for tom, but a forums member may be able to do it. If its good enough, it can be put under the rules thread for all the noobs (as well as members) to see!

as james said, the rules are in the sticky threads. the video would be in the sticky threads as well, so if people don't read the sticky threads they won't see the video either.
lots of effort for pretty much no effect.

So tell me if you are a new comer where do you first look for sticky's on how to do things as they are not all in the same place maybe there needs to be a part that says look in here first or something

1) There are ALREADY sticky posts about this, with the information and instructions already in them. Which people already ignore.

2) Putting a video in a sticky post would get EXACTLY the same response and be a complete waste of time.

I'm NOT ignoring anything Iam trying to make it easier to find everything that is needed all the sticky's need to be in one place easy to see and find not in the MULTITUDE of forum posts, hell iv'e been here since 2011 and there is more than half the posts that I have not seen and probably won't see that may or may not contain sticky's on how to do things. Look at the main forums page when you click community and tell me where on there is there a heading or title thread saying that all the info a member whether they are new or not on how to do things correctly as I can't seem to find one. Iam NOT trying to cause trouble or arguments I'm just trying to make things easier but maybe I'm wrong I don't know but I have already PM'd Jamesriley94 about this today

Its a nice idea however I think the simplest way to do it is just to link them the appropriate sticky.

There isnt anything that blatant but there wouldnt be for a video either. Most people do get along fine or with a polite poke learn.

If anyone does anything wrong just be polite and explain to them nice and calmly and youll probably get a good response.

Not saying you specifically fella, gen-pop ignore and don't read stickies and instructions and stuff, and people only require a couple of polite pokes on how-to's to sort it out. Besides it would be doing the mod's out of a job :P

+1

If people already ignore a few lines of text they definitely won't watch a video.

What if lets say " TOM "the noobie comes along to his first forum, and has no clue to what a stickie is, to no to read a stickie for the rules.

well then he still isn't going to watch a video in a sticky then is he...

Everything that's needed to be known is in the FAQ on the navigation panel, like a lot have said if people can't be bothered to look there or read the stickys they are unlikely to watch a video.

I would rather watch a video by far then read everything in the faqu section

You realise you'd still be reading exactly the same information in the video right?

How else will you learn the tags and stuff? We can't project them into your cognitive thought process, you have to read it to learn it.

Seriously how are people not getting the point here..

god forbid, you have to read something on a forum. what is this madness?

Welcome to the Lazy social network age

It's a sorry state of affairs. I like visiting my local library, even more so these days as it's always empty & quiet.
