NZXT Switch: Project Something

a nice little mod there (love the design) and that case is massive when you see the motherboard inside of it

Love the way you have co-ordinated everything, even down to the white grill on the PSU. This has to be one of the best executed builds I've seen - nice one.

much appreciated!

@ petrol The block is an XSPC Raystorm, which doesnt come blue as standard, and it doesnt fit the Sabertooth from stock as i found out even though its a 1155 socket. there's some small chips and 2 solder pins on the back that foul the backplate. Nothing a dremel didnt fix, perhaps i should tell XSPC of my finding.

Loving the changes you've made to the Switch, such an awesome case! Very nice sleeving in there too completes the look of the rig.

I really really really like what you have done with the metal plate on the raystorm. I mean i really really really like it. I really like the project but i really really really like the plate. Well done mate. I may have to imitate lol

Who did your sleeves, Lutro?

The build overall looks very killer! I think the blue on the raystorm cover is a nice touch, too!

Now for the quoate lol its not an XSPC issue with their mount. Its Asus's issue with ther solder joints. There are like 3-4 boards that it has the same issue with and all are made by Asus. Simply put they stick the pins to be soldered further thru than most othed manu's do. This leads to the pins protruding out more and the solder being a tad thicker. but as you found out a lil nibble on them and it clears no issue and no harm done.

oh no, there's 2 solder posts that stick out where the raystorm would sit flush with the board i had to cut a good 6mm in from the edge to clear them, but there is also 4 little chips on the back of the motherboard that are in the way, this is where i had to dremel just a tiny ammount off. Maybe its just the sabertooth thats like this? il try and get a picture of it later on.
