Hi Guys,
It's a bit embarrassing to say that haven't got an SSD in my rig yet, it was one of the things that I compromised on when I built my rig 18 months ago and never got round to /had the money sort out - I feel like I've been missing out a bit!

Really I'm after some general advice. Is 128gb enough for you? After installing windows a few programs do you find it disappears quickly?
If 120gb is adequate I would be prepared to spend up to £120. If not then I would consider the 256gb up to £200 however I'm trying to buy a car at some point so I would rather not.

I've been considering the Vertex 4 and the Kingston HyperX 3k however I'm open to options.

Any thoughts?
Jim

Depends if you want to put games on there. Like, a lot of games.
I'm past the 120gb mark on my SSDs, but I have OS, programs + a fair few games.

If you manage things properly you can fit fine on 120gb.
I have the OS, 6 games and all my programs on there, still with 20gb spare.

As long as you set any browser download folders to the HDD, along with other download programs such as torrents (obviously for downloading the free torrent films that producers want you to download, nothing illegal of course ;) ) then you can fit everything on 120gb fine. Then just put all data on the HDD and everything's fine :)

I've only installed my most used programs/games on my SSD. All secondary games and none-frequently used programs are on my 2TB black :D. It depends on the amount of games/software you use a lot. If you have a tonne of games/software that you want to access uber quickly, than a 128 GB SSD may not be enough to fulfill your needs. If you can compromise, a 128 GB SSD will be more than sufficient. I've still got 60 GB left on mine, although I still have a few programs I'm going to install on there, but even then I'll have around 45 - 50 GB left :D.

As for which SSD to get. The Crucial M4 mentioned above is really good. One that I could personally recommend is the Corsair Force 3 :D.
