New sound card

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a new sound card,

i've done some research and i have three candidates: xonar essence stx, a xonar xense or a creative soundblaster x-fi titanium.

Now, i really can't chose between them, so here comes in my question: wich one should i buy

I have a Xonar D2, and I think it's epic for music and games alike. That just means the Essence STX will be even better :) I think Asus are higher quality products than Creative, and I think they look nicer too :)

The essence stx is the best of those you've listed. The only card that is equal to it is the soundblaster zxr.

SO pleased you didn't list a recon3D

okay... I've had the x-fi and the STX, and I've stuck with the STX.

Bear in mind the essence stx is built for headphones of high calibre and simulates surround sound via 2 channels (the best way I've found)

The X-FI has the 'gaming grunt' and lower latency for things like rocksmith (much to my dismay). and will be a good all rounder.

I have no experience with the other xonar card you mentioned.

My money is on the Essence STX I spent some dollar getting mine with a decent pair of headphones, then picked up an Antlion modmic and will never, ever go back.

I'm using a headphone, so i think i'm gonna buy the stx , because it seems to be the best option :)

thanks for the (quick) comments

The STX is pretty much best on the market. Superb headphone amp, and makes vinyl ripping a joy. I'd choose it over any of the cr@p Creative has put out in recent years..
