Alo, so as you most people who haven't been living under a rock AM5 / ZEN4 is only arround the corner...

I am going to build a brand new PC (Specs listed below); retiring my old one (Specs listed below).

My Question is that would you go watercooling on a new platform even system strait away without letting the parts burn in for a lack of a better phrase... I have had this in the past where the motherboard died about a month or so later & had to be RMA'd (Asus Rampage IV Extreme X79).

So would you go strait in for a custom loop or get something like a noctua aircooler then upgrade to a custom loop a month or two later?

Will take advice on parts

First off kudos to getting that much life out of the old x79! I still have a Rampage IV Gene that had a long life too.

I *have* gone straight to the custom loop before testing parts, but I don't recommend it. That Noctua air cooler to start is a great idea, and if you're thinking custom loop, you know how expensive that can be. The Noctua will be cheap in comparison, and can be used as a backup later on.

For 7950X if you don't go custom water from start then Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 420mm to hold on until you can fill the case with rads.
