I cannot wait for more pics, the rig is going to look insane. Keep up the awesome work!

This is going to be huge, I have been keeping tabs on your build and am very anxious to see how it turns out.

Thanks peeps :-)

The day this build is finished, will be the day where i become slightly sad. This is my favourite build log

Thanks Solidarity. I will probably be alitle sad too when its done, because ive really enjoyed all of this, and i also love all the positive feedbacks ive gotten.

This is just awesome! I'm fairly new to the enthusiast scene so this is insane to me, hopefully I can try something in the future.

Seriously amazing work!

Update: I have decided to LC my two 5870's. I was worried that the memory would become a problem but i have tested one of the cards tonight and theres no problem, even on ultra settings. BF3 ultra setting did use 960mb of the memory but my other games only used around 900 on highest settings. I planed to upgrade my gpu's this year but i started to feal alitle bad about it, because why waste money when the current gpu's are running every game smoothly? Some might think that spending some money on blocks is a total waste, but i will get really nice temps and quiet gpu's, so for me its totally worth it even if i only use them 1 more year.

I have decided to get 2x EK Acetal full cover blocks and luckely PPC's.com have them in stock so im going to order them tonight. Also recieveing a large package tomorrow witch consiste of parts for the second loop :-)

Yeh, there's no point spending money on new card(s) if the ones you have now are doing the job perfectly fine on the more demanding games. With the water blocks the cards will look fantastic and that's all you really need, given you already have the performance aspect covered.

Yeah the two 5870 are performing better than a referance 580 in sooo many games so i think its a waste to replace them this soon. The whole project costs alot of money so its good to wait with gpu upgrade.

Ive ordered this today: 2 x EK acetal -EN- fullcover blocks, ModMyToys 4-Pin Power Distribution PCB - 4 x 3-pin + 4 x 2-pin Block, 20x Female 3-Pin Fan Housing Black, 4 custom leds.

Im replacing all the white 3 pin fan housing to all black housing, and ive also replacing all the leds for the Raystorm and XSPC resorvoirs. I didnt want tonns of 4pinn molex connectors and i also wanted to have two different colors on the Raystorm. I know how to make your own leds w/resistors and 4 pinn molex connector, but i wanted to use 2 pin and they didnt sell that, so im getting some premade witch i am going to sleeve myself.

Ive been measuring the lenght for the wireing of the rad fans to the fancontroller and the lenght is bloody perfect for the extensions ive already bought. Lucky with that one tbh :-)

Thanks sources95.

Got a big package today from

Also got this in the package:

Forgot to mention. Those thumscrewes for motherboard will be painted and the gpu loop will have clear tubing with gold dye in the fluids :-)

Got 10 fans that need to be painted aswell, so im really hoping for warmer days so i can open up a window for proper ventilation. Those gasses/particles are nasty and doing this on the inside of the house, is normally a big nono for me.

Also, i think i made up my mind about what MB and cpu i will get. Its tempting to get a 3930k and x79 mb but i dont think i will need that kinda power, or atleast not so often. I see how strong my 2500k is, and i know lots of people who love the 2600k aswell. So, i think the 3770k will be my best option considered prize/performance(the review of it was kick ass). Having 8 threads will be nice compared to my 2500k, and it should also oc like a god.

The MB i have picked out is the Gigabyte Z77 UD5. It didnt have as sweet heatsinks as the UD5 x79 MB had but i kinda grown fond of it since i first saw it. The money i save from chosing a 3770k/UD5 i will put into waterblocks for the MB.

Have you seen the black and gold beauties that ECS are making?

Yeah seen it, but im not spending money on a ECS mb :-)

Also going to be carefull and not overdo it with to mutch gold theme.

Thanks for the recent updates Azurite!

I've been following your project for the past month, I cannot wait to see the finished product.

You've inspired me to start my own build log soon. It won't be as massive an undertaking as yours, but there will still be a bit of woodworking involved

I hope the final stages of your project go smoothly!

Thanks mr.

If your doing a project soon then you must share it with us :-)

I need to have it ready in 6 weeks(IB launch), but i will probably have mostly done in 3 weeks. Should go smoothly as long as i take my time and dont start rushing things.

*NEW* im going to make my own leds. Ordering crimptool, terminals, pinns, leds, cable, resistors, helping hand soldering station, Bitspower X-Station. I have done some soldering in the past, so ive already have an soldering iron and tinn.

The helping hand station is going to be real helpful to have.
