Moving a water cooled pc overseas

Hi all.

As you already know, I have a water cooled pc in process of being put together/improved.

However I have just been told that I need to move overseas for work. Naturally I do not want to leave my pride and joy behind (or my pc), since I'm moving for a period of at least 2 years.

So my question is; what precautions do I need to take with the pc to ensure that it arrives at the other end safely?

I figured that draining the loop and stuffing it with something soft and static free would be the way to go, but I'm just not sure. Thoughts?

Take out the GPUs preferably tbh. Those blocks are heavy and they're only held in place with 2 screws at one end of the card.

I would dissamble everything. You live Australia and overseas from there is a long way no matter how you look at it. CPU pins could be bent,Screws could come undone, cables get loose and wack everything, etc.

I would put the CPU/GPU in a box(lots of padding), HDD/SSD/Ram in another box, Blocks in another, and anything else in a box. Case will be the hard part though.

I transport mine every three months, and I wrap fittings in kitchen paper, and fill all the gaps I can with the packaging with the big air sacks in it, and I've never had a problem with that. I only drive it about a hundred miles each time I move it though, shipping it would probably be a different story.

At the minimum I'd drain it, and then pack the space between components so nothing can move. Seeing as you are going for a long time though, and you won't need to do it often, it may be worth removing the heavier parts and packaging them separately.

On a side note, I'm think I've heard Tom mention he ships fully water cooled systems, without draining them, and by stuffing packing material everywhere. I may be wrong though.
