Mach II st-Mach II in short
1 make a usb cable for yourself or even try maplins?(i used an old mobo header and mouse for this, just cut and joined them)
2 Follow the pages in the instructions the "st owners are asked to ignore" on installing the software and connecting the usb to your mobo
3 Play with all the controls that all the people with full Mach II's get
4 Go overclock some more in turbo mode
(3 a) you may need to force the drivers in yourself !!!
Little scenario
I recently purchased a Mach II st from Phil. When i got it home all excited as I'm sure you all were. After following the instructions for setting it up, i fired it up only to find that i had the following LEDs on:- flashing green ,solid yellow ,solid yellow, solid red,(gutted).I move to my old PC to read the Nventiv sites FAQ's and found out it would probably need a firmware update sounds simple eh?well as it turns out you need the usb to flash the Mach and this item is NOT included in the ST package
I phoned Phil next day and basically told me the same (tnx again for your time on this M8) he said better off talking to Nventiv direct so i did via a support ticket.Well the reply i got was not what i would of expected form a company like Nventiv, all i got was a link to the FAQs,s page telling me what i already read for myself,:bummer: where is all this leading you may ask? i was so annoyed with the lack of support as far as the ST model. when i decided to take a little look in side the Mach and much to my surprise i found that the PCB i had see web pages displaying the usb connection was on my own ST model. so me being me decided to make my own usb cable from and old mobo header and an old mouse.Much to my surprise this worked straight away, when i plugged it into my spare PC installed the 1.23 software downloaded from the Nventiv site and flashed the firmware to the latest and every thing worked
thus saving me from RMA-ing the unit back to Phil.
Well once i had the ST working with the system i set it up with i decided to try the same usb cable with that system and it worked also.I now have full control of the boot temp and fans like on their Mach II theres even the LCD header on the PCB

a few thoughts
1 check your PCB on your st unit
2 the system specs between the st and Mach II seam the same but I'm sure we will be told different
3 watch out for newer revisions on the st model (PCB)
BADpEnNy oot !
sorry peeps i maynot have made the force the drivers part enough this may cure someones lil probs
