Mach II st - full blown Mach II

Well, now the only way for me to test it, is for Raptor to test a "normal" cable at is ST and see if it works. If it does .. then i think some of us have a non workable usb conection ..

There should be a sticker telling you wher firm where you have. Can people post whats on the sticker so we can get an idea

Mine is Chip Cool 751

I have had to move my PC as I am wall paper stripping. :o( Might look like there are some that work and some that dont.. Thats why I asked for people to put what firm where was labled on the chip to see if there was a way of telling

From a discussion with my source at nVENTIV, this mod doesnt work with *all* generation 1 ST's. I have no idea why - it would suggest its a firmware thing, which you can get round, but other than that, maybe its a variation in the design of the pcb on the control board - who knows.

thoes that have it working and if you can take a pic or to post it up and those that have not got it working also take some pic and we can compare and see if we can work it out

If its a firmware thing, it's gona be complicated since we don't have the conection to upload a new one. I will get a "non workable" photo of mine later.

Keep us posted. I know for a fact some work and some dont - but I have no idea what is causing this - and neither do nVENTIV from what I could make out.

Well if it is hooked up White Green Red Black on both the prommy and the boards then it's a linear connection, ie. red white green black both ways would work the same. If someone could please verify that I am correct here it would be great thx.

Yep thats what we managed to work out, linear connection. Make sure you plug the USB in when windows has finished loading.

i fired it up only to find that i had the following LEDs on:- flashing green ,solid yellow ,solid yellow, solid red,(gutted).
My ST does the same... does it need a firmware update. If so, why?

Also... my mobo just died :(

It seems if I shut down my pc but forget to unplug the mach2 mains, I get ice forming around the evap head, just where the main hose meets the block. It is usually fairly trivial but this time I left it on all night and there was a massive chunk of ice around this area (massive).
