Mach II st - full blown Mach II

My ST does the same... does it need a firmware update. If so, why?

Also... my mobo just died :(

It seems if I shut down my pc but forget to unplug the mach2 mains, I get ice forming around the evap head, just where the main hose meets the block. It is usually fairly trivial but this time I left it on all night and there was a massive chunk of ice around this area (massive).

If you shut down your PC the MAch should have been shutting down too.

how does your board died? from the ice?

if you shut down the mac2 your pc should shut down with it!

I got the ST, it came with a display? :D i hooked the display up, it illuminated but didnt display anything, is it set to anything by default?

When i hooked it into what i think was the usb on the st to my pc i got 5 unknown devices come up in device manager i tried installing 1.23 driver it installed a windriver but the usb devices were still unrecognised?

any one else have this and does it mean mine will or wont work on a usb, or do i have my wires twisted?

now the dislplay shows ' w ww w ww w w '.?

Not all ST's will take a display or will convert to a mach 2 via usb I had a ST which wouldn't work so I swapped it with cash for a mach 2 I think on this thread thetre are pictures of the usb cable pin positions

just to check how do people stand with warranties on their mach units now if they no longer apply, im gonna whop the board out of my st and the board out of me mates mach 2 and see what the differences are (will post some pics on the website too) we will get this st-mach 2 bugger sorted

What warranties :D

Seriously mate, you havent got an "official" warranty anymore - but you do have my blessing and whatever help Extreme Prometeia can give you, and this valuable forum of course!

ooh looky looky it might work yet!!!

okay am currently plucking up the courage to retry my mach 2, and as information is power, i've been powering up came across this little article which shows that my mach 2 may actually work and it was the software being buggy check it out, havent tried it am at work but will do when i get time, but here ya go

http://www.xtremeresources.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=45&page=5

hope it helps.

Also i beleave i have found the non fashion labeled seal string from B&Q

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/product/product.jsp?CATID=187239&entryFlag=false&PRODID=24554

Found it amusing the stuff costs £2.99 compared to 29.99, and that @ 2.99 they still charge £5 delivery , doh, oh well i'll walk down at the weekend.

I have a few other useful links if theres anyware to post them on these forums?

To resurrect this thread, i've just tried this on my Mach2 ST, with a straight through USB cable I made. Windows recognises the Mach2 and I appear to be able to flash it too.

However, the control centre says:

USB connection lost - retrying

and it gives me no other information. If I unplug the USB lead I can see it being removed from device manager and reinstated when I plug back in.

What's the problem?

Buuump :)

I refuse to believe this cannot work, unless I get an explanation :D :P

Windows detects the Mach2 ST, why doesn't the Control Software work :(

- its the controller board. Its unlikely you will get it to work. Only revision 1 ST's worked with this fix, the later revisions were prevented from doing this.

Edit - cant remember if this was the new board or not? If not it must be the USB cable.

Yeah I had an ST that would not flash so I bought a mach2 lol however cheaper option £80 buy a controller board off Phil and bang brand new mach2

Hi guys, can anyone tell me the colour order of the wires on the USB lead which plugs into the Mach II PCB? Starting from the first wire on the left, there are 4 altogether and then the opposite end of this USB lead plugs into a USB header on the mobo.....anyone?
