Right boys and gals Im looking for a new moderator to join the team. Age, race, colour or creed is unimportant. You just need to be a regular member thats well behaved and that gets along well with the other members.

But heres the twist, because I enjoyed the UK election gubbins so much we are going to let the members decide who they want the new mod to be and hold the first OC3D Moderator Elections!

Any member can put themselves forward as a candidate, but please put in the effort and tell us why you think you should be on the team.

The current team will make a short list (heres to hoping theres a list to shorten!) and then we will put up a pole to see who gets the job!

Good luck to all :p

I'm not for huge speeches but i'll give it my best shot.

Joined OC3D in July 07, visit the site as much as I can, helped other members to the best of my knowledge. Been a mod on a couple of forums but they seem to wither and die (not like OC3D!).

My job is rather dry at the mo (External QA contract basis) so I always have the website up and running. iPhone is setup for instant email notifactions so any report post emails I can get rid of ASAP.

Since my stay here at OC3D i've been in the gaming clan (only did like one pratice match) and benchmark team (my knowledge of overclocking is still basic :p), folded and was a admin on the OC3D COD4 server.

OC3D has helped me alot on the way and it's time I give that help back ;)

Errm that's about it. :)

I would've be signing up but I wouldn't be committed to the job for at least another year or so. Exams are murder.

Not knowing exactly how much time this would take up I'll give it a whirl:

Apart from the tiny infractions I received for some dubious "sale" posts I made I have otherwise been a great member of OC3D. I have always tried to help others out with what knowledge I have and love reading everyones comments on knew issues. I have been a mod before on a forum and know what it takes to work well, however, this would be a step up from my previous mod job. As is obvious, I'm always on here, whether it be in the morning or, well, in the morning but really early XD Planning to join the newly re-founded folding team and would love to get gaming with you guys more and this may be a chance for me to become more involved with you crazy people! I've always pushed the boundaries but don't expect me to let those inappropriate threads slide just because I think it's funny!

Not much more I can say really. Good luck to the guy that gets the job though! (Assuming it is a guy XD)

My Name is Jake Bloomfield, I'm 19 and I live in South Bristol (just around the corner from the Airport)

I've been a member here since 2005, just after it was changed to OC3D.

I've always been a lurking here, but posted more and more because of the growing community.

I love visiting Computer based forums, especially OC3D, due to have the in-depth, no-nonense reviews and an excellent community. I was also once apart of the Folding team (stopped due to electric bills!)

I have a certain extent of knowledge with PC's/Computers; from personal experience and education (I am CompTIA A+/N+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician plus some more qualifications). I enjoy fixing peoples problems and also just giving them tips and guidelines. I also dabble in upgrading my personal PC from time to time (got the new Xigmatek Utgard, thanks to Tom's Review!)

I currently work for Lloyds TSB Helpdesk as a Frontline Agent. I cover a range of software and hardware related calls on a day-to-day basis, and it keeps me on my toes.

All-in-all, I think I am a good candidate for being a moderator of this brilliant community because I've been a long lasting member (who choses to post wisely) and I'm always here to help.

Wow, like a cover letter for a CV!

I take it once its all been sorted it will be made into a poll?

I would like to apply although i havent been around too often and not sure if i could apply myself...shall think it over :)

After reading these posts, I won't even bother applying. I mean.. sure I know my way around computers, and sure I'm an active member, but you guys deserve it much more than I do. Good luck guys!

(btw... raging gets my vote xD)

+1

Was really thinking about it when you 1st posted about a new mod, but when there are much better people for the job I'd rather see them do a good 'un instead.

What the hey... I'll give it a crack..

My name is Marc Clements, I'm 24 and come from Isleworth in South West London and have been a member on the forums since May 2007 amassing a total of 3,654 posts.

Work wise, when I joined this forum, I was working in HR and since then I moved to ICT Helpdesk / Frontline Support and as of last week have moved in to an Infrastructure / Data Centre Support Engineer post. Pretty much everything I know is self taught and picked up as I've gone along in my jobs. I can honestly say that this forum helped me get my first ICT job as I referenced it in my statement of application when talking about writing news articles for OC3D.

When I joined this forum I thought I had a reasonable knowledge.. I now know I knew bugger all. The reason I joined was after searching for a new graphics card and finding many sites with reviews, the review on this site really caught my attention for being very well presented and easy to read. I had some questions about the graphics card so I joined the forum and was bombarded with help very very quickly after creating my thread.

Basically, I was hooked and have come back very nearly every day since and have tried to help out as much as possible to try to give back to the community that has cost me a small fortune.

I've been an active member of the Overclocking Team and have also created several project logs in my time here and consider myself to be a 'continual upgrader'. However, the best thing I've contributed would be the (roughly) year I spent creating news articles for the site. I enjoyed doing this very much and it helped me with my creative writing massiveily and also helped my mild dyslexia which I am very thankful for. That said I still have to correct myself quite a lot.

I've previously moderated two forums, albeit gaming forums and I've also moderated several gaming server including OC3D's very own CSS and COD4 servers in which you get far more abuse than on this pretty well behaved forum.

Ok I've spouted on far more than I wanted to and it feels like another bloody application form!!!!!! /END!

edit: Ok that is long... I appologise!
